This workshop provides an opportunity to share knowledge related to delivery of care to children and young people with ME/CFS, discuss challenges and learn from each other. Using the example of a medium district general hospital service and that of an urban tertiary service, a consultant paediatrician, specialist physiotherapist, occupational therapist and consultant nurse will share learning and are keen to hear attendee’s insights from practice and experience. Key themes will include ensuring biopsychosocial assessment inclusive of HEEADDSS, screening for possible POTS and neurodiversity whilst considering management inclusive of access to education, learning and transition to adult services.

Richard Tozer
Qualified Leeds 1994
Worked in Merseyside, North West, Sydney, Essex and London
Completed Specialist training in 2007 with an interest in Acute and Critical Care Paediatrics
Consultant paediatrician in Torbay since 2009
Fell into ME/CFS work as none of his consultant colleagues were interested
Developed the Torbay CYP ME/CFS with Louise Humphrey and others
South West CYP Long COVID Clinical Lead
Most recently developing an interest in Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome

Louise Humphrey
Louise qualified as a physiotherapist in 2002 and has been working in paediatrics since 2005. She developed an interest in ME/CFS over the past 10 years as she and colleagues began to encounter more and more young people being referred for this reason. Louise works as part of a general community children’s physiotherapy service covering Torbay and South Devon, her work with young people with ME/CFS is one aspect of her role.

Anna Gregorowski
Consultant nurse and clinical lead of University College London Hospital (UCLH) TRACCS (Treatment and Rehabilitation of Adolescents and Children with Complex Conditions service), working with children, young people and young adults with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) since 1999. Anna helped develop and works at UCLH and pan London in long COVID services for children and young people. Anna is the chair of the British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS and has been since early 2020.

Elizabeth (Beth) Maunder
Beth is a Senior Occupational Therapist in the TRACCS team at University College Hospital London, joining in March 2022 after taking a maternity leave cover post within the team.
Prior to that Beth had a varied background specialising in Paediatric Occupational therapy from Neonatal to Young Adult care, within Acute services in several Children’s Hospitals in the UK, as well as within NHS Community Paediatric Teams, schools and in independent private practice around the country. Previously a clinical service lead and clinical specialist in a children’s hospital, Beth’s specialist interest is within Neuroscience, particularly Neurodiversity and Neurodisability within young people with ME/CFS in TRACCS, this is in looking at the interplay & application of clinical practice approaches within Neurodiversity practice assessment and intervention.
