    @JohnTheJack (or anybody else): I don't know if you're aware, but if you have a subscription to The Times you can share an article with others, presumably by clicking on a "Share this" button or similar, so that the paywall can be bypassed. It produces a different URL containing the words "sharetoken", and seems to be valid for about a week after the article appears.

    I can get the Times articles online (possibly a limited number but I got this one OK) for free. Can't anyone?

    I only get the first paragraph, then get "invited" to subscribe. Which I refuse to do since it belongs to Murdoch who (I better not say any more).
