The article is based on this research:
    Frontiers in Microbiology, August 2108
Active HHV-6 Infection of Cerebellar Purkinje Cells in Mood Disorders
    Bhupesh K. Prusty et al
    https://www.frontiersin.org/article...tm_campaign=ECO_FMICB_hhv6-depression-bipolar
So post mortem brain studies showed significantly more virus and more inflammatory response due to the virus in those with Bipolar and major depressive disorders.

Prusty is one of two groups in Germany that also do research on ME. He received a Ramsay award from SMCI.

    Edit: Corrected OMF to SMCI.

Neuroscience News article on this study, https://neurosciencenews.com/herpes-virus-depression-bipolar-11025/

To reiterate the point made above, Bhupesh Prusty was in receipt of a Ramsay Award grant from SMCI. He presented at the NIH Accelerating Research meeting last week, talking about having found evidence for "something in the blood" impeding mitochondrial function.
