The Stanford Daily: Stanford Medicine professor (José Montoya) fired for violating University rules of conduct (june 2019)

Agreed. You are correct. This is a time honoured way to defend abusers, it was wrong then and society is just beginning to understand its wrong now. Indeed. Using celebrity as a shield is slowly coming to an end.

The Stanford Daily: Stanford Medicine professor (José Montoya) fired for violating University rules of conduct (june 2019)

Thanks for posting this I could just repeat my last post, but it seems many don't want to realize that people can commit crimes even though they act professionally in other areas. Bernie Madoff was charming, yet he perpetrated the biggest ponzi scheme in history. Perhaps even because of his charm.

The Stanford Daily: Stanford Medicine professor (José Montoya) fired for violating University rules of conduct (june 2019)

Are we interested in opinions of people who want to protect Montoya or are we interested in the facts of the case? No one is unable to commit crimes because of their accomplishments. However if they want to donate money to ensure he has good legal representation then they should do so which...

The Atlantic: A Breakthrough in the Mystery of Why Women Get So Many Autoimmune Diseases

Its a theory that can be "confirmed" with confirmation bias. And this theory will be used as rationalization for treating women as baby incubators

9 Rounds of Electroshock Therapy. 6 Years Lost. All Because Her Doctors Got It Horribly Wrong.

I wish You are technically correct but waiting generations or centuries is not very efficient Its quite likely a court would rule for the doctors, you typically need an explanation to get something resolved the right way. MS was not declared non psychosomatic until there was a test that could...

9 Rounds of Electroshock Therapy. 6 Years Lost. All Because Her Doctors Got It Horribly Wrong.

This would be almost impossible to win, the "experts" claim success, patients usually don't complain and the experts are acting in "good faith". There is "no harm" committed here...

Advocacy Action Alert: Senate Considers ME/CFS Funding Increase!

Thats interesting. So determining prevalence and educating doctors. If the money is passed is it the CDC who gets the cash and a directive to do these things? Is there public input or does someone high up just make unilateral decisions? Are there consultations on how to accomplish those?

Aptinyx stock soars on positive Phase 2 results for its fibromyalgia treatment, June 10, 2019

Sounds like this is a pain killer and not a disease modifying drug. Not that that is a bad thing but it does not get us any closer to understanding the disease mechanism.

The Stanford Daily: Stanford Medicine professor (José Montoya) fired for violating University rules of conduct (june 2019)

This goes without saying. The next steps are akin to there will be either a meeting or a legal challenge. If it goes to court then there will be determination of guilt or innocence. If instead they work out a deal with the DA then that will be binding. If there is an informal meeting instead...

The Stanford Daily: Stanford Medicine professor (José Montoya) fired for violating University rules of conduct (june 2019)

Exactly why i called his attorney a fool. You don't make things worse, you try to contain the damage your client has done and make proper amends if possible :emoji_face_palm:

His attorney is a fool. This is a thin denial and reads like a non acknowledgement acknowledgement.
