Germany's "National Decade Against Post-Infectious Diseases"

Great news! That is a lot of money... I hope they use it well. It would be nice if they could miss a few millions for SequenceME and Daratumumab haha.

Pacing - different meanings of the term pacing in ME/CFS and other conditions, and the problems this causes.

The way I personally interpret pacing is closer to pacing your energy during physical effort (e.g. a race). There's a very flexible/adaptive nature to that which largely depends on feeling and prior experience. Which does seem to fit with ME/CFS and avoiding PEM. But I can see the problems...

Open Norway: Plasma cell aimed treatment with daratumumab in ME/CFS (ResetME) - Haukeland University Hospital

They're calling it a phase 2/3 trial in one of their documents. I think if the effect size is strong it might be good enough?

Is ME/CFS a form of Host versus Host disease?

Interesting theory! So basically immune cells are fighting each other in the lymphatic system and this triggers something similar to sickness behaviour (which normally only occurs when immune cells are fighting an infection). @Jonathan Edwards if I may: 1. That does make me wonder: why do other...

News From Jarred Younger / Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue Laboratory at UAB, From Aug 2020

@jnmaciuch @Jonathan Edwards Given that DecodeME has started pointing us more towards the brain and Jarred's lab focusses on the brain in ME/CFS, do we have any leads that would be more interesting for him to pursue? Considering the disappointment here with his current endeavours..

What advocacy use should be made of DecodeME results?

From AFME: Which would be quite a lot to raise through crowdfunding. I think our biggest hope would be government funding. The DecodeME results obviously are supportive of this. But I have no idea how that works in the UK. Else it would be nice if AFME, OMF etc. would launch a huge...

It's a coping mechanism I think. Some people have gotten burned real bad by being hopeful about research.

:banghead: Anyone has any thoughts on this? I thought the data on autoantibodies, inflammation and circulation isn't particularly strong?

    Melatonin

I wonder what these recommendations are based on. Are their negative effects with long-term use? What happens if you take it while having an autoimmune disorder, a seizure disorder or depression?

Review Migraine and functional neurological disorder (FND)—a review of comorbidity and potential overlap 2025 Stone et al

My mom has struggled with horrible migraines for most of her life. Tried every possible treatment. Two years ago she got referred to a neurologist with a lot of expertise on migraines. He got her to try the newest drug class: mAbs that inhibit CGRP. She hasn't had a single episode since, it's...
