Err.....no. Is it just me? I start to feel better when coming out of a relapse or PEM. In a relapse or PEM my body doesn't want to stretch or move and I will feel extremely ill if I try to push it. Full on hangover + raging flu etc.
When I start to come out of a relapse the symptoms ease...
Anytime I have been asked to keep a record like this they have completely ignored any additional burden it might cause.
There is also no recognition that filling out these forms in such detail means that you are constantly having your limitations shoved in your face. I found these forms had a...
Yes, I was told that too at one point. In retrospect this is bad advice, in my opinion, as it completely fails to take into account that physical activity causes deterioration in cognitive function and cognitive activity causes deterioration in physical function. Then you are so busy trying to...
Agreed, but I wonder if there's something we could potentially do about it?
It's dodgy circular reasoning again. If they don't allow a mechanism for harms to be reported, then no harms will be recorded. Therefore the assumption is there is no need for such a mechanism.
This is clearly absurd.
I do think we need to start holding authorities/therapists/clinics to account more. They should actively investigate possible harms from treatments as well as possible benefits.
We know that some of the UK clinics don't even have any reporting mechanism. I wonder how we could change that.

I think their algorithms get confused. If I like an author I will read all their books so Amazon sometimes includes details of the books released in other languages . Normally it's just one or two on the list, but it amused me that this time it was every single book!
I just do not understand how that can be an effective technique for anything. The only thing that can possibly achieve is to undermine a person 's confidence.
I'm so sorry you were out through this @rainy. This is abuse. Pure and simple.
Alright, who's the joker? Someone's definitely taking the p***!
Amazon have just sent me a link with the latest kindle book deals.
Every single one in German.
Come on.....which one of you? Own up!
:laugh::rofl:
No, I have had people tell me it's cured them. Literally that. I have had great success controlling IBS with diet, as long as I continue to eat a certain way, although (after years of being strict) I can allow the odd treat. So I do understand the distinction.
I have never had proof my gut...
Don't get me wrong, I think eating the best possible diet can only be a good thing for anyone whether they're an ME patient, a diabetic or a perfectly healthy individual. However the best possible diet for me and the best possible diet for you might be rather different things.
I have spent a...
I already have been assessed. A couple of the trigger points were very tender and the rest weren't. The rheumatologist who examined me seemed.very.....determined that the pressure points should elicit a stronger reaction.
He was pressing the points so hard I could see he was exerting...
Sorry, I thought I was done, but I'm back ....
Trudge Chalder - that cheeky mare!:mad::mad:
Uncertainty.....if she thinks developing any of these conditions is a result of "uncertainty" she clearly has no concept of what it's like to suffer from any of them.
Before becoming sick many...
Hmmm....
My conclusion is that hypothyroidism is a lot more complicated than many doctors think and that contrary to the belief of many UK docs not every patient does well on levothyroxine. Some need liothyronine which is difficult to get.
The "normal" ranges for thyroid function test results...
I definitely do better with a very simple diet with the fewest possible processed ingredients. Also reduced carbs. I think (for me) this is more to do with keeping IBS well controlled and how the IBS affects ME and ME related pain. I don't know if I have fibromyalgia.
I'm afraid I must also...
Uhuh. Nods.
Well, they certainly removed the uncertainty from my life. Thanks to their successful stifling of research and stigmatizing of patients over the last 30 years it's looking fairly certain I will be far to old to go back to work by the time there's an effective treatment.
So , yeah...
This is why I prefer listening to sounds of waves.crashing on a beach or the wind in the trees. I can use my imagination and go for long cliff top or woodland walks..... or a run....or be on horseback!
It becomes a nice relaxing treat rather than a distraction tactic and is all the...
This is the thing, we are all so different.
I don't begrudge anyone who can successfully study or achieve anything physically or cognitively that I can't do. Good luck & every success to them!
Based entirely on my own experience - I was both cognitively and physically much more able and...
Like @Arnie Pye I never bothered to find out. I wouldn't be at all surprised if mine changed slightly from time to time. I know I occasionally get a very loud high pitched tone over the regular tinnitus that just lasts a few seconds and disappears.
I'm not an audiologist nor do I have any...
Ah. Now I do understand and agree with what you're saying here but I see a caveat. Equal treatment compared with....?
You see, I think the BPS crew believe they are giving us equal treatment. Equal to the treatment other mental health patients get. Different standards of treatment for those...
