UK: Disabled mum who killed herself failed by benefits agency

And £10,000? That amount is just insulting in it's trivialisation. It'll be what one of the DWP bosses spends on a weekend break in a European city. The people who make these decisions need to be held to account, but they wont be because that's the shit pile we're living in. So angry. Rest in...

The replication crisis is killing psychologists’ theory of how the body influences the mind (Olivia Goldhill)

Oh God @rvallee you do make me laugh sometimes  I had such a picture of somebody doing & saying jazz hands, i know you've said it before, but it just tickled me tonight, thanks for the light relief:D That diagram of the peptic ulcer codswallop is priceless, where did it come from?

Survey: online input sought for ME app design (Center for Solutions for ME/CFS at Columbia Uni)

Indeed :) but i just felt it was unhelpful to snark at people who are at least trying to do something useful for us, & seem to be on our side. :D I just do get so frustrated at the gross lack of understanding of the practical realities of living with ME. There is plenty of info out there, if...

Survey: online input sought for ME app design (Center for Solutions for ME/CFS at Columbia Uni)

Indeed. They also need to recognise that resting is a different thing than 'relaxing'. It asks if you'd find it helpful to record time you spend relaxing but not asleep "eg watching tv". This makes me think it's written by healthy people with little to no understanding of the realities of life...

Amen! @Dx Revision Watch Suzy you and Mary are absolute heroes! We all owe you a great deal. Goodness knows what horrors would have occurred without your vigilance & hard work. I know the battle isn't over yet but yeesh I'm very grateful for what you've achieved so far!

    Twitter activity of Professor Blanchflower

Precisely. Sounds like a kind of baiting, trolling etc. My take on that is not to engage, not to give them the attention they so obviously crave. It's like when perpetrators bait their victims in court trying to get a reaction out of them that they can use to illustrate the victim is 'unstable'...

Pacing - definitions and sources of information

@dangermouse this is the kind of pacing i use. it's 'Symptom Contingent' rather than 'Time Contingent'. http://www.wames.org.uk/pacingweb.pdf Ironically, a psychotherapist recommended it to me. It was back in 2003 before all this pollution of the term had really started. She recommended it to...

    Dr Jonathan Kerr

thanks, no problem perhaps you could tell me what criteria i might apply when choosing one - ie how does one tell if it's "decent" ?
  15. JemPD

    Dr Jonathan Kerr

I'd like to do that. Can you recommend one? One that's as basic as possible. It'll likely not manage it due to cognitive challenges, but i'd like to understand a bit more of this so i'd like to try.
