Columbia University: Insights from Metabolites Get Us Closer to a Test for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I am more than sceptical about animal models. They DO NOT WORK. I spent years studying this. I am sceptical about anyone who says they are going to use animal models. Now I remember why I was sceptical about Ian Lipkin. :(:banghead::mad:

    Stamina levels before ME/CFS?

I worked on a hospital switchboard for 3 years, and felt really bad about disturbing junior doctors when they were trying to sleep, to tell them about a patient having a heart attack, for example. I knew all too well the stress they were under. They used to come into the switchroom to change...

'Chronic fatigue': The devastating illness that's so much worse than just tiredness - Honey Coach nine.com.au (July, 2018)

But he says at the end "The anecdotal evidence would suggest that if you get early intervention from GPs who know how to manage and treat the disease, that gives you the best prognosis for recovery." Really? Based on what?

    Stamina levels before ME/CFS?

I had huge amounts of energy. I worked full-time and made full active use of my 'leisure' time. In Cornwall I was an active member of a couple of societies, including being a rep of various kinds, I collected firewood from a plantation at weekends, then went to the pub. As I got more...

Help ! Hypoglycemia coming back with a vengeance

I had a lot of nausea and vomiting in what I think of as Year 2, which I thought might be due to poor diet or too much alcohol or drugs (legal and otherwise). But maybe it wasn't. I discuss it here...

Latent class analysis of a heterogeneous international sample of patients with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (Leonard Jason team)

I found this wording questionable: "feeling hot/cold for no reason". I'm sure there is a reason! I get very hot after doing an activity for a while, and suspect that it's due to my delayed adjustment mechanisms. It stops after I've stopped the activity for about 5 minutes.

Help ! Hypoglycemia coming back with a vengeance

Yes, it can be. There was a programme on UK radio yesterday about too much sugar in food - I had to cut down drastically a few years ago. See https://www.s4me.info/threads/uk-radio-programme-on-high-carbohydrate-foods.4852/
