Guided graded exercise self-help for chronic fatigue syndrome: Patient experiences and perceptions, 2018, Cheshire et al

Findings look interesting (improvement (n=9) and deteriorated (n=10)); conclusion daft (Guided graded Exercise Self-help may be improved by targeting those most likely to improve, and education about the indeterminate phase.) Datum: 11 juli 2018 URL...

Gluten-free need not taken seriously by radio prog

I was definitely overweight, which had developed during a time of extreme stress. Since going gluten-free my appetite has stabilised and it's effortless. Hope you had some clothes of the right size, @Mij!

Gluten-free need not taken seriously by radio prog

I've written this to the programme: Re your piece today about gluten-free labelling, there has been recent research confirming what many people have already found but not been able to get the medics to take them seriously: it is not only coeliacs who are sensitive to gluten. Many people with...

Gluten-free need not taken seriously by radio prog

The argument seemed to be that the labelling was appearing on things that didn't normally contain gluten, I think. But that argument seems to assume that everyone automatically knows what might contain gluten.

Gluten-free need not taken seriously by radio prog

The consumer programme You and Yours today had a piece on gluten-free products being 'unnecessarily' labelled, and repeated the tired old quotes about not many people being coeliac. This as usual did not take into account the more recent findings of non-coeliac gluten-sensitivity, found for...

CDC Posts NEW CONTENT on ME/CFS (July 12, 2018)

What they seem to fail to acknowledge is that many of us have a lot of 'exercise' that is essential every day, and the excessive amount that is often required, such as shopping. I have plants to water, food to cook, curtains to open and close, stairs to climb, etc., etc. Already I exceed my...

    Stamina levels before ME/CFS?

I don't think I was thin as a child, and a lot of people here have problems with excess weight. I was overweight at one point during the illness, and lost it when I went low-GI (glycaemic index).

UK: The Yellow Card Scheme has been confirmed as the route to report 'adverse incidents' from GET and CBT (or has it?)

It seems that the difference is whether the 'therapies' use 'products': "cognitive behaviour therapy and graded exercise therapy are both non-pharmaceutical or medical device treatments" and "The Yellow Card Scheme includes a facility to report suspected adverse incidents associated with...

Brain fogginess, gas and bloating: a link between SIBO, probiotics and metabolic acidosis, Rao et al, 2018

Interesting. I don't think that antibiotics are necessarily the answer for all of us though, least of all those who are sensitive to medications. I note that: "We treated all patients with evidence of SIBO with antibiotics and discontinuation of probiotics, and the rest with dietary advice...
