A Low Glutamate Diet Improves Cognitive Functioning in Veterans with Gulf War Illness, 2020, Kirkland et al.

I had read somewhere that glutamate does not cross BBB easily and most glutamate is made from pools of glutamine in brain as neurons can't directly make it from glucose? EtA this was probably 3am reading so could well be wrong

A Low Glutamate Diet Improves Cognitive Functioning in Veterans with Gulf War Illness, 2020, Kirkland et al.

Interesting as glutamate is an issue in cancer. Cancerous cells use it as an alternative fuel when glucose is not sufficient. There have been comments in the past re similarities to cancer cell behaviour ( probably re glucose ?).

Accurate and Objective Determination of ME/CFS Disease Severity with a Wearable Sensor. Palombo et al. 2020

Thanks for the additional info . We did a home version of the 10 minute lean test monitoring HR ( no BO sensor on our wearable). Pretty convincing OI, but need BP to explore this further. Had we done this out of home situation PEM may have been a consequence. My daughter has a routine , but...

    Consultation involvement

Thank you @Invisible Woman . Given that the PSP will probably involve questionnaire(s) it would be good to get feedback to enable things to be highlighted from the onset rather than try and tweak things later . @Simbindi had some good comments on other threads which highlighted how...

    Consultation involvement

Yes this was what I was alluding to . There were suggestions on the other threads re how participation could be made easier for all , and why telephone etc is an issue too. It simply seems that cognitive issues are not recognized enough , the varying types of disabilities not explored enough...

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

I share your concern. My cousin lives in Melbourne with his family. His parents live in Cape Town , South Africa- a country that was initially doing well but seems also to have significant issues now. Not good for either .

    Consultation involvement

From previous threads ( particularly the paediatric NICE guidelines consultation and problems with conversation), there was interesting discussion about the ability of #pwme to participate in consultation. The existing go-to seems to be online survey, with telephone being a back up and this was...

Pacing - what do you do/how would you describe it?

This. It took us a long time to recognise this. Adrenaline is a real bummer, perhaps especially if you are a child . Children naturally want to do things- holding them back is difficult, especially when a lot if the " advice" promotes increasing activity. It is false energy and I think the...

Digital Behavior Change Interventions for Younger Children With Chronic Health Conditions: Systematic Review, 2020, Crawley, Loades et al

If your studies are broadly crap, your meta analysis will be broadly crap. Or did I miss something?

Behavioural fatigue .... wonder who coined that one?
