A big congratulation to Vilde Seip Frydenlund who won the Holberg "Research in school" price for her research project "But you don't look ill" where she has interviewed ME patients in Norway  Google translate from the projects own page at Holbergprisen...

I'm able to exercise but am still disabled

Even after long periods of being mostly only at home and stationary, when I had good periods and went for walks with others I could still outperform sedentary friends who would get out of breath and need a break up steep hills while I didn't. Edit to add: By chance I've had the opportunity to...

2025-2026 Norwegian chronic fatigue guidelines - draft published

Røysumtunet is a private hospice (not sure this would be the best term) where sever pwME can have accomodations such as dark and sound proof rooms and personel that know the condition. There are some controversies around them, but as for treatment they are not BPS inclined. FaFo and SINTEF are...

2025-2026 Norwegian chronic fatigue guidelines - draft published

Yes. That HDIR says they will be rigorous and create guidelines based on "solid" evidence is contradicted by the "balance" part.

The directorate of health has replied to an opinion piece voicing concerns on how biomedical research groups have not been present at meeting rounds (vs heavy involvement from BPS researchers and organizations) Ny retningslinje for langvarig utmattelse, inkludert CFS/ME, vil bygge på bred...

Exercise/physical activity and health outcomes: an overview of Cochrane systematic reviews, 2020, Posadzki et al

Posted as they write in the conclusion that exercise comes with "minimal or no safety concerns", but the data on adverse events and withdrawal from studies doesn't look so good: CSR: Cochrane systematic review Adverse events Withdrawal

Exercise/physical activity and health outcomes: an overview of Cochrane systematic reviews, 2020, Posadzki et al

Abstract Background Sedentary lifestyle is a major risk factor for noncommunicable diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer and diabetes. Smartwatches for health monitoring

But is sleep through the night necessary a good enough indicator of good sleep? I've been up three times tonight with a teething baby and I still feel more refreshed than I did when sleeping through the night pre-pregnancy. If the treatment helps and patients feel better, they may feel they...

Open Norway: Study of Daratumumab Injections for Patients with Moderate to Severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, 2025

HADS has already been shown to be useless. But at least it’s not the only measure and comparing it to funcap could be interesting (on the top of my head I can’t remember if similar has been done, although I don’t feel it’s necessary to do as HADS is a bad scale)

Translating S4ME Fact Sheets into Norwegian

It looks like the version below, with "vaske seg" rather than "dusje" as suggested by Utsikt is our final version  Introduksjon til ME/CFS Hovedpunkter ME/CFS (myalgisk encefalomyelitt/kronisk utmattelsessyndrom) er en sykdom som har betydelig innvirkning på folks liv, og er...

I think all comments have been incorporated in this new version below. @Utsikt @Ravn @Kalliope Introduksjon til ME/CFS Hovedpunkter ME/CFS (myalgisk encefalomyelitt/kronisk utmattelsessyndrom) er en sykdom som har betydelig innvirkning på folks liv, og er vanligvis langvarig. Sykdommen...

Multicentre retrospective detection of nailfold videocapillaroscopy abnormalities in long covid patients, 2025, Ginaldi et al.

I get horizontal grooves on my thumbnails a while after a crash, they nearly almost disappeared while I was pregnant but have returned post-partum. Could be an issue with nutrient delivery to the nail bed.

I also think so, I don't have that much energy this week, but we should hopefully be able to write in the suggestions and the missing paragraph during next week :)

Psychosocial Nursing Diagnoses of Individuals With Myalgic Encephalomyelitis-Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: A Descriptive Study, 2025, Oter-Quintana et al

I'd guess nursing diagnosis are recorded the same as nutrition diagnosis, together with other diagnosis in the health record. The definition for "Ineffective coping" from the American nursing association webpage is as problematic as can be expected: Adaptive behavior disorder and inability to...

Psychosocial Nursing Diagnoses of Individuals With Myalgic Encephalomyelitis-Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: A Descriptive Study, 2025, Oter-Quintana et al

More symptoms also means you are coping worse. On the nursing diagnoses: Those of us who are not doctors and can't set "proper" diagnoses, have our own set of diagnostic codes we can use, which is supposed to help us be concrete when working with patients but also help legitimize...

2025: The 2019/24 Cochrane Larun review Exercise Therapy for CFS - including IAG, campaign, petition, comments and articles

Responding to a deleted post I was thinking about clinicians focusing on the importance of mental health of their patients when going to work today, how practical help (and/or better economy) would help more than being sent to CBT. But there is no system for patients to tell clinicians so...
