Just a quick report back on my Oxford jab.
the side effects for me were short lived and minor. Took about 12 hrs to see any real effects. Initially slightly achy arm then after 24 hrs a bit of nausea (nothing I couldn’t handle). Main issue was I couldn’t sleep at all the following night so...
I don’t see why they would make it cheaper though. It’s not about the cost of production but about what price they can get away with/what the market will tolerate. I suspect this will be positioned as a cheaper alternative to surgery and the price will reflect that.
it doesn’t preclude...
sounds impressive but I guess this will not become available on the NHS as a treatment for the masses whilst the belief that patients should have more will power still resides.
Far easier to make up pretend solutions and churn out misleading food industry-bashing papers out of Queen Mary’s to...
There is a report
https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/air-quality-statistics/concentrations-of-particulate-matter-pm10-and-pm25
I think the biggest offenders are still road traffic and industry

Log burning is still an issue but there appears to be a...
I think that sounds ok but the problem is really microbiological load vs UV power and flow rate. The Uv will only be effective to a certain degree but once the filter builds up enough microbiological load then the effectiveness of the ‘kill’ step diminishes. And of course Uv only deactivates...
Aren’t air purifiers just a haven for bacterial growth unless you link it to some kind of kill step like UV?
I think hepa filters are the worse for this unless they are changed at a frequency that is impractical and costly.
the difficulty I suppose is knowing what is the best mitigation...
Perhaps we should start a campaign of our own to expose scam selling of this sort and how it affects the victims.
protecting future victims seems like something the charities should consider
Yes
well so far so good...I’ll see how things go tomorrow. While queueing I was holding my NHS number and trying to remember to get them to put it in the opposite arm to the one I sleep on. I can’t remember which arm they did put it in now and no sign of any mark at the injection site so...
I’ll give this one a read @Binkie4
just had my first Oxford jab a couple of hrs ago so hopefully the couple of days off work I’ve taken will be sufficient (ever hopeful/in denial)
queuing was just about manageable (10 min wait) and no waiting around afterwards
we are all relieved tbh.

I think this is interesting....taking my measurement I have a baseline of 58. Going by this logic I should avoid activity that takes me above 73? This means no showers (95bpm)
not sure I think this is entirely practical but it says that perhaps my keeping activity below 100 may be a bit too...
I had a quick scan and I have found a few studies that conclude that:
the brain uses the most energy/ATP out of all the organs in the body (about 20%) from glucose
that the cerebral cortex is likely to use the lion-share (great ...that’s insightful)
That the parts of the brain that process...
I use this site to track “activity” and impact of the lockdowns
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/bulletins/coronavirustheukeconomyandsocietyfasterindicators/4march2021
The high street one in particular tracks quite well against other...
Yes this seems so very different and similar to what I’ve read elsewhere, that’s why I just lump mine (which I think is very different) in with general confusion/migraine type fog. To call it sensitivity seems like I’m overstating it. I can’t imagine the level of concentration required with the...
This is certainly my experience...I don’t know whether what I have is true sound “sensitivity”, but the inability to distinguish one sound from another, all sound just being “blah” and volume being disproportionate to normal seems to get worse in PEM and sometimes isn’t present at all when I’m...
I can’t say I am well read enough on the detail of GRADE but I would say that whatever system is used to put a ‘value’ on research should determine first what the purpose of the ‘grade’ is.
Pace is a bad trial in terms of flawed methodology so you could discount it completely or can you use...
I’ve not read this but the abstract looks to be stating the bleeding obvious ....when people get sick their digestive system is thrown out of balance?
so...how can they make any meaningful observation? How does this compare to any other infection I wonder ...it doesn’t follow this is a direct...
I thought this was ...thought provoking. I’ve always tried to adopt an appropriate arguing style to suit an occasion ...it’s generally ended up very blunt and direct or slightly softer direct though. I think that might be my personality. I’ve always worked on that principle that articulating...
