I've shared the links far and wide, but only had a few respond saying that they've signed up. TBH, I'm surprised that the paper version can so comprehensively outstrip online signatures!
I wish I'd thought of getting someone to take a papercopy along to the local group meets. Too late now...
My first time round my energy envelope definitely did improve with time. I was initially as ill as I've been all this year, mainly housebound. I wasn't told about pacing but, after three months of trying to push through and ending up housebound I sort of happened across my owm version of it...
There was an MEAction survey last year, which can be filtered to see the results from Bristol here:

Click on the link to the dynamic dashboard to access it. Works best from a laptop.
I'm not aware of an AforME survey...
It's Pete Gladwell, not Philip (for what it's worth).
I'll have a read through over the weekend. I'm particularly interested as I've had sessions with Pete at the Cossham clinic (won't say too much as I don't want to 'out' myself). He made positive noises when I talked about using the HR...
Thank you Trish. I'm not in a union but the professional body I'm a member of (IET) has a benevolent organisation that gives advice so I've contacted them.
I've no idea what the pension would look like, I've been fulltime for 21yrs.
There are so many unknowns, but you're all giving me things...
@NelliePledge yes, that's also a good point. I think I'm going to need to make a list of things to do/not do.
Retirement on ill health grounds is definitely an option with the pension scheme, but so is chronic ill health (which is better financially as it reduces penalties for early...
@Kitty I'm glad that you managed to successfully negotiate the system so far. It sounds like a right battle. I can understand the frustration over the pension!
I've been through a bit of a mourning period for stopping work already, but got my hopes up again in December. It's just an...
Sorry you've been through this too...
I took the insurance out to cover the mortgage payments when we bought our first house, 22yrs ago, and then forgot all about it until I was first ill in 2016. If they'll pay out it will make a significant difference to the impact of losing my job. It'll...
I saw work last week and I have 7wks paid sick leave left, extending to 12wks if I use the full 2019 holiday allowance that they allowed me to carry over.
At the start of December I thought I stood a chance of getting back to work, part time. But I got worse over Christmas and although I've...
I wouldn't read too much into numbers of likes.
Just over a year ago I'd have been in the "almost recovered" category. Now I'm most definitely ill. I'm also not sure of why the "phasing" of symptoms, if remitting/relapsing, should impact on suitability for inclusion. Is anyone ever really...
I agree that it's not much notice. I've been pleasantly surprised with the mobilisation on the local group though. There must have been almost a dozen MPs contacted yesterday.
I've been using resetting heart rate as an indicator for a few years. I bought a device which measures hrv early in December and there's a remarkable correlation with how crashed I am and hrv, so far at least.
@Chris Ponting @Andy just wanted to say thank you for your efforts and the engagement. You can probably tell we're all pretty excited by the prospect of you being successful in securing funding!
I've two people in my family (aunt and cousin) who have bee diagnosed with ME (my Aunt was diagnosed in the 90's). Neither 'does' computers or the internet and I'm sure aren't in contact with any groups. I will make sure to discuss it with them.
We'll might get better returns than we think...
I wonder if there's merit in celebrity endorsements? Suzi Perry had a health scare this year and was concerned that she may have ME. Don't know many details, I just follow her on twitter. If there are people like that who have a big reach then maybe they could help get to sufferers that might...
