I couldn't find, from a quick search of the paper, whether or not patients swallowed the saline. This could be important if in COVID, as in ME, there is a tendency to hyponatraemia.
I too voted "It depends" for the same reasons as others have given.
I've just participated in a government-run at-home COVID study, which no longer pays, and expect to participate further, as I have lots of test kits they sent me when I agreed to.
I was paid for my participation in earlier...
I've just noticed an error in the written report - it says "Females are more likely to experience...hyperthyroidism" whilst point 4 in the Initial Questionnaire Results above refers to hypothyroidism.
I'd never heard of Visual Snow Syndrome before. Once between the ages of 5 and 7 I experienced what I described as 'cotton wool' across my field of vision, and I was terrified and had to sleep in the bed of my aunt and uncle for the rest of the night. I am pretty sure I was OK in the morning...

Thank you - hope you improve too.
The idea of a colonoscopy rather terrifies me!
I've just had a proper night's sleep for the first time in ages except when I take strongish sleeping medication promethazine. I wasn't woken by the need to pass large amounts of gas as I have been recently.
