Should I get an air purifier to cope with dust?

After reading your posts, I looked under the bed and saw big dust bunnies I hadn't known about. I sent in the Roomba, which both horrified and fascinated the cats. They always go on high alert, but refuse to leave the room where it's working. They have to keep an eye on this noisy interloper.

    Online cpap support group recommendation?

@LarsSG, Apneaboard does look good. I like nerdy! They have reviews of the ResMed AirMini, the travel cpap I'm considering. I've read other places that the Mini can be too noisy, and that the waterless humidification doesn't actually provide enough humidity for some. There is a 30-day trial...

    Online cpap support group recommendation?

I'm doing well with cpap, but want to see what people think of mini cpaps for travel. Thanks.

    Mpox, formerly called Monkeypox

When I first heard about monkeypox recently, I thought, really? Are worries about climate change, pandemics, racism, misogyny, gun violence, the toppling of democracies, and inflation not enough? Must we also deal with a new catastrophe? My anxiety closet is already bulging. But from what I've...

Aromatherapy blend of thyme, orange, clove bud, and frankincense boosts energy levels in post-COVID-19 female patients..., Hawkins et al, 2022

I can't be around essential oils because I have fragrance sensitivities. But I was surprised once when, before bed, I used a strong topical pain gel with lots of menthol. It was so stimulating that I couldn't sleep. After that, I used it during the day for pain, but never again before bed.

The Chronic Elephant blog by hellytheelephant

You guys have inspired me to get out my sketchbook and Mark Kistler's Draw Squad book again. I found it very helpful for learning the basics of drawing. It's for both kids and adults.

    Positional vertigo/spinning nausea

I had vertigo for awhile after a fall, and it was hellish. Mine cleared up with the Epley Maneuver got rid of it for me. The actor Kristen Chenoweth deals with vertigo from Meniere's, which she got after an accident on set. I heard an interview with her on NPR's Fresh Air last year, and she put...

    Best chopping tool/food prep gadget?

I have knife blocks, too, but I only use 3 knives, so didn't actually need the blocks: a chef's knife, paring knife, and serrated knife. This sounds so obvious, but one thing I learned in culinary school was to use a cutting board that is plenty big enough. We'd get yelled at if our instructor...

    Best chopping tool/food prep gadget?

Well, amen! I love my stick blender because I make a lot of pureed soups. I never used to because in the olden days before the advent of stick blenders, you had to transfer the hot vegetables and stock to a regular blender, blend, and then transfer the pureed soup back to the pot to do the final...

    dry eyes

My dry eyes got better when I consistently increased the amount of water I drink. I add a little salt to each glass. GenTeal Severe Eye Gel is great for my dry eyes. It's not necessary, but I sometimes refrigerate it because the cold gel feels very refreshing in the morning. My eye doctor gave...

Salt: The paradoxical philosopher's stone of autonomic medicine

I once went to a cardiologist because I was worried I had arrhythmia. I just had extra heartbeats, so that was fine, but he was concerned that my blood pressure was a little low. He told me to make sure I have enough salt in my diet, especially since I don't eat much processed food. My main...

What are the best coronavirus masks?

The masks I use are from American companies, so I don't know if they ship internationally. My favorite mask is made by Halo. It's washable, very comfortable, and more protective than an N95. The fit is excellent with adjustable ear loops and nose wire and also fabric under the chin that fits...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

Good to know, thanks. I'll feel better having the extra protection of the booster, especially since there are still so many people refusing vaccines and masks. I don't see that changing.

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

Are the research and recommendations for vaccine boosters coming from sources other than vaccine manufacturers? I will get the booster when it's available in the U.S. for the J&J, but I do wonder about the objectivity of the recommendations.

    Long covid after breakthrough infection

My husband and I had a trip to Orlando next week to visit family. We're both vaccinated and always wear masks inside, so I figured it would be okay. But I found out yesterday that it's even worse in Orlando than we thought. The city is in a state of emergency with covid cases, and hospitals are...
