I quite like to use this free guided 45 min bodyscan in the afternoons - sometimes I don’t exactly follow it, but helps me to stay resting for 45 mins. Bells at start and end, so if I drift off, helps me not to sleep for long. I quite like the ‘hippie’ vibe - is quite relaxed & fun, not too...

Statements on conflict of interest of PACE trial TSC

Interested in where the protocols covering definition of Conflict of Interest in medical research are. I may be very dense, but haven’t seen this in all the info on this thread and elsewhere. Is there an ‘industry’ definition, laid down by professional, ethical or regulatory body? Are there...

Jen Brea tweets about U.K. Unrest campaign

Agree with Alvin that personal stories are persuasive and some of the feedback that seems to be coming across from US medical school filmings is how rare it is for Drs to see the patient’s perspective of chronic & misunderstood illness. Some U.K. Drs have written about how different it is when...

Jen Brea tweets about U.K. Unrest campaign

So could we crowdfund to support MEA visiting medical school with Unrest screening licenses & expenses of Drs eg Dr Shepherd? Could include costs of eg Skype interview with patients. Could also have PACE debunking element. Absolutely important as @Jonathan Edwards has pointed out to get right...

Jen Brea tweets about U.K. Unrest campaign

My point being that while is seems potential funding was lost, why not crowdfund to support & enhance that work by MEA and others in the U.K. ie use what was a bad experience & turn it to good. Not replace, but build on & seek to sustain forward momentum of the work of MEA and other, building...

Jen Brea tweets about U.K. Unrest campaign

Agree we need to be positive now. I do think that a way to do this would be to crowdfund MEAction/MEA led medical education programme. Building on US model and US work - but in U.K. Here working on positive change while others are rightly debunking PACE. Think we need both approaches and the...

Jen Brea tweets about U.K. Unrest campaign

I think this experience Jen Brea has had with Unrest in the UK is deeply disturbing and may make it harder to bring US activism & insights to bear: ME Action is strong on community organising, is proving efffective in the US & I think vital to culture change here too. Is there any way members...

Using Heart rate monitoring to help with pacing.

Yes, smartphone needed. And you need to keep it by you (same room) for it to log HR. The Tickr Fit doesn’t store data itself.

Action for ME has joined S4ME

This forum is public. The recent judgment re PACE evidence I saw (would Post reference from the link/tweet but back in the midst of timeline), but was made it clear that forums are being joined and observed by people the forum members are critiquing & trying to use as evidence of ‘abuse’...

Using Heart rate monitoring to help with pacing.

Hi Stevo. I have found the Tickr Fit to be very good. Battery life just over 24 hours, about 2hrs to recharge. Can set lots of different audio alerts, spoiled for choice. I set HR zones & Burn and Burst (just below PEM zone). Is a voice from my smartphone and I can choose what is announced...

Using Heart rate monitoring to help with pacing.

After much research & agonising, I have just bought a Wahoo Tickr Fit - didn’t like the idea of wearing chest strap for any length of time & get allergic reaction to plastic watch stamps used by Fitbit etc. This one is new: for forearm or upper arm, small device held in place by elasticated...

    Unrest now on Netflix

Irresistible to post this for social media refuseniks, as indeed, I was once. NB Edited have converted the file to a thumbnail, as is v tiring to watch Mrs Doyle in full “Go on, go on” mode stuck in an eternal loop!
