Having difficulty keeping my head straight (litterally)

Weird thing happening today, and I’m freaking out a bit. I thought abput meningitis but the issue is not really stiffness, it’s more that my head feels very heavy and that my meck muscles are too weak to keep it straight. I had less sleep for the past two days, my two kids were home and each...

    1st ME/CFS Canadian Collaborative Conference

Most speakers won’t speak french, so I suppose it will be in English for the most part, if not the whole conference.

    1st ME/CFS Canadian Collaborative Conference

The cost includes breakfast, lunch and breaks, which is worth about 25$, so it’s like paying 25$ for the conference, which is reasonable. But of course if you have to cancel, it’s all lost. And of course accomodations. If you decide to come, let me know so we meet and chat.

    Legs weakness

Muscle weakness is one of my permanent symptoms. It started in the legs after my first viral infection. After the second viral infection, I started having muscle weakness all over my body, even jaws, fingers, ect. So yes, this is a common ME symptom.

Mattresses - What’s working for you?

I need a high quality firm spring mattress. No pillow-top, no memory foam. Old fashioned but so comfortable ! On average, when I buy a new mattress, I return the first two and I keep the third one. My back kills me when I don’t have a proper mattress, so much that even turning in bed is...

    I've gone nocturnal again :(

I am waiting for a polysomnography. This doesn’t test for sleep apnea only, but also for many sleep disorders. It can also be done during the day if this is when you sleep. Maybe they would find something they can help you with ? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polysomnography

    I've gone nocturnal again :(

I’m very sorry about your sleep patterns, it must be very difficult to live with. Have you been tested for sleep disorders ? I hope your strategy works as you hope. It makes sense, so I think it should work. Hang in there !

    Bizarre sleep pattern

I really don’t know. Can you ask your doctor if there is anything else you can try ? Valeriane sometimes works, there are also other natural products that maybe your doc would let you try.

    Bizarre sleep pattern

The medication helped the most because it started working when some major stressors were still going on. I had been working on my sleep hygiene for 12 months also, and that made a difference. It took about six months to start working, and it helped me with my sleep but the insomnia didn’t go...

    Bizarre sleep pattern

Yes, yes, yes ! It’s been about 6-8 weeks now and I have been sleeping through the night most of the time, with a little insomnia left. I usually sleep from 0000 to 0700 or so, more or less. I have to admit though that all the majors stressors in my life have gone away, my depression has...

Spirometry test results - what do they mean ?

How frustrating and sickening ! At one point the technician had me start over because I wasn’t blowing hard enough. I tried to look online but I’m not medically educated enough to be sure. From what I understand, I think I have CPOD, either mild or moderate.

Spirometry test results - what do they mean ?

i haven’t talked to my doc yet and don’t know what these results mean. Should I look at the column “ REF” or “PRE” ? If REF all is normal, and if PRE, lots of anomalies I suppose ? Anyone can help ?

Breathlessness and air hunger in ME/CFS

I have trouble breathing as well. It’s variable within the same day, week. My breaths are small as well, I breathe about twice as fast as a normal person, and breaths aren’t as deep. I also have asthma, I’ve had it since my 20’s. I can differentiate between these two conditions easily. You...

    Low temperature

I agree forehead thermometers are definitely the least accurate method of taking your temperature. Get a good mouth thermometer. Simple and fast.

    Low temperature

My temp varies from 35.2 to 37.2. 33 C seems vey low. I would buy another thermometer and redo the whole thing. When my kids were young, I used digital thermometers often and lots of them were just not accurate.
