    Episodes of nearly fainting

@Dechi - what, if anything, happens if you raise your arms (elbows) above your shoulders?

    Episodes of nearly fainting

@Dechi Is this feeling as though you will faint when your neck is tilted back or does it also happen if you keep your chin level with the ground and just raise your eyes?

CDC/Medscape - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: It's Real, and We Can Do Better Elizabeth Unger

One question is why does this posting talk about a strategic plan encompassing both ME and HPV? Just because (as @Dolphin says) Unger has worked on both doesn't mean there's a solid connection between them - and certainly CDC hasn't been spending a lot of time and effort looking at that. It also...

Denmark: Analysis and comments to Karina Hansen's journal from when she was sectioned at Hammel Neurocenter

I "knew" Karina had been horribly mistreated but reading this is so difficult. (Can't begin to imagine going through it as she did. These people have no clue how strong she is to have endured this even though it further wrecked her.) People who treat their pets this way would be prosecuted, but...

‘I can hardly breathe’: Exploring the parental experience of having a child with a functional disorder, 2019, Hulgaard et al

I too have wondered if the harm of telling parents not to trust their instincts and not to trust their children has been thoroughly considered. Adolescence is difficult enough so counseling parents not to trust their kids makes it that much harder for the young people and for their parents...

‘I can hardly breathe’: Exploring the parental experience of having a child with a functional disorder, 2019, Hulgaard et al

The "authorities" (healthcare professionals, school officials, etc) insist that parents shouldn't trust their children when the child(ren) say they cannot, when the parents SEE the repercussions of exercise/school/exertion.... These things infuriate me!

The IDO Metabolic Trap Hypothesis for the Etiology of ME/CFS 2019 Kashi, Davis, Phair.

It's Friday, I have little brain left this week and I am confused as to how there's a "long history of epidemics" yet the first sentence of the abstract says it's noncommunicable. Aren't epidemics infectious, hence communicable?

"Fitbits and other wearables may not accurately track heart rates in people of color" STAT News

Very significant for POC who are trying to track heart rates. Also makes one wonder about other factors that impact accuracy. "An estimated 40 million people in the United States have smartwatches or fitness trackers that can monitor their heartbeats. But some people of color may be at risk of...
