Esther Crawley gets 'commendation' at 2017 Maddox Prize awards.

Off-topic, but I wonder: Why are "liberals" called "marxists"? They obviously don't fulfill what Marx wrote in his books.

Webinar: Challenges and Promising Research Avenues to Decipher ME/CFS Enigma, Dec 5th 2017

I could select a country, but in the state selection I only could choose US states :) I was a citizen of District of Columbia in Germany.

Webinar: Challenges and Promising Research Avenues to Decipher ME/CFS Enigma, Dec 5th 2017

@Wonko I selected Germany and "lied" with the state because of missing options. I wanted to listen to the webinar. I guess you lied, too, then :)

Families with multiple members with ME/CFS wanted for Moreau study - worldwide

No no. He mentioned twin studies. Later he mentioned big families (there was a slide with a family tree, where red meant "with ME" and blue "without ME"). If I understood correctly these were different topics. Is that wrong?

Thank you, @Sasha. He also mentioned genetic studies with big families, if I remember and understood correctly.

Interesting: Mr. Wessely wrote an article "Commentary: the psychiatry of hubris", https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1633554/ It's from 2006. It's rather a political statement. And it feels like he's saying, "Look, I am just grand, the others are dumb". It sounds a little...

Tuller / Trial By Error: My One-Sided Correspondence with Professor Crawley

Thank you, @Trish and @Cheshire! Not only in UK. Unbelievable! They are viewing sick, unemployed, poor and normal people as garbage, aren't they? Well, everything that is not them is bad  Arrogance is part of stupidity.

Guest Editorial: A Radical Care Pathway for ME/CFS

I would like to comment on this, but before let me say this: I view myself as someone who wants to understand how nature works, because as humans we are part of nature and because I am curious and nature fascinates me. Also, I think we should understand the environment we live in in order to...

I agree with @large donner. The agenda must be advanced "in the name of science". It's a bit like the nobel prize - it's political now, not scientific. I get more and more the feeling, we live in anti age of enlightenment. :( Here's a critical article about SAS, but an older one...

Woman 'with ME' won world kickboxing championship

I don't believe she has ME. I still have high respect for her. She says all she needed was a strong will. Well, every training person has this. I daresay me, too. That doesn't change that I feel like crap during training/going for walks; it just means I bear the pain longer, often too long...

Simon Wessely Research & Related Quotes

So a possible solution is to become an alcoholic or at least to have the drink at the end of a working day? Or is Wesseley saying indirectly how grand alcohol is for him? Indeed, it is a good antidepressant.

Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Continued

I didn't mean company vs. university. I can only speak of my experience in a legal department and what I heard of a legal department of a uni. Those are two completely different worlds. The reason, in my opinion, is quite simple: money. A company has much more to lose. Compliance rules are made...
