Agree. I thought it was well explained in simple terms for the general public to understand. Now if they could remove the banner under Kathleen's name stating that she's suffering from ME and not from West Nile Virus.
From the article/link above:
"In 2018, the largest study to date on the causes of CFS suggested that the condition may begin as a result of an exaggerated immune response. CFS is often diagnosed when fatigue and other prolonged symptoms cannot be medically explained, but a “trigger” illness or...
When I 'recovered' from the the initial virus and returned to work, the first symptom that alerted me that something was wrong was my equilibrium, not fatigue. I needed to lie down (at work) in the dental chair, but I never felt refreshed or ok. I walked home like a drunk, swaying and...
"Cheney has long stated he believes the low energy state in CFS may be protective. “This also brings into focus the idea that maybe fatigue isn’t as bad as we think it is. Sometimes fatigue could actually be a protective mechanism against damage from these toxins…..I call this the energy...
@Snow Leopard
I was responding to what Mithriel wrote. I'm wondering if this is what Dr. Cheney theory was referring to when he used the term "Compensated Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy".
I was referring to immunocompromised candidates taking part in the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca Covid vaccination trials.
In my post above it says no, but that was in October.
@Snow Leopard
I'm not referring to fatigue. I am referring to why we get PEM in the first place. The type of 'fatigue' Dr. Cheney is referring to is PEM. It must be sort of protective mechanism, no? I don't have pain so this won't prevent from overdoing.
Many have developed post-infectious POTS, and may not go on to develop ME. I've been reading about post-infectious POTS from patients who became ill from contracting other viruses, some are attaching ME to the mix, but 2 years on they are able to do cardio and yoga on a daily basis...

Have any of the vaccines been tested on immunocompromised patients?
They should emphasize on functionality- how well the person deals with his or her life and environment after trauma/illness. There are different levels of disability.
"The trauma of having a major, life-threatening medical condition can leave people functioning at less than their cognitive best, Rondeau adds".
So it's the 'trauma' of having an illness that is driving them to remain sick, and not the actual infectious pathology.
I wanted to buy a tv last year on Black Friday but didn't find the pricing that great compared to previous years. I think everyone decided to wait for Cyber Monday deals, but the prices remained the same and some went back up(!). The tv's eventually sold at regular price later on...
