Myalgic encephalomyelitis: International Consensus Criteria, 2011, Carruthers et al

MRI is typically abnormal in HSV encephalitis, especially if clinically severe. It likes the temporal lobes, but may be asymmetric or unilateral. See eg for a severe cohort Assessment of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Changes and Functional Outcomes Among Adults With Severe Herpes Simplex...

Fibromyalgia in obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome: a systematic review and meta-analysis, 2024, He et al.

The AI summary concludes: The hypothesis depends on central sensitisation and we have too much evidence implicating peripheral pathology that needs investigating, before even needing to consider central sensitisation. The proposed treatment is brain/limbic/amygdala retraining, with extra...

The feeling of being "poisoned" - what do we know about it?

Or alternatively an early-onset feature that may be compensated (metabolically?) over time for those less severe. I don't seem to experience it much now. At the start it was ubiquitous, then I would describe "poisoned days" which moved from being majority days to minority days, eg 1 day in 10...

Monitoring app - Visible - a platform "designed for any invisible illness that benefits from resting and pacing - including ME/CFS & Long Covid."

Rather than remove the feed altogether, maybe they could add a community vote up/down feature. Below some threshold a study could fade out or have a warning symbol, or just not be displayed unless specifically filtered on by the individual user.

The feeling of being "poisoned" - what do we know about it?

I'm the opposite, as I've never really framed symptoms as "flu-like". I also don't get enlarged lymph nodes, but sometimes get a sore throat. Mostly it's the nausea, headache, OI, profound weakness, shakiness and a pervasive feeling of 'poisoned'.
