There is some discussion of it in this post and some that follow in that thread: FREE Long Covid and ME/CFS Holistic Healing VIRTUAL SUMMIT July 10-16, 2023
I’ve just seen it suggested to improve mitochondrial function in neurological conditions on a video. I outsourced the rabbit hole to Perplexity deep research but I’m still a little unsure whether it is a viable idea requiring better evidence or a quack idea, probably leaning towards insufficient research (https://www.perplexity.ai/search/investigate-the-credibility-th-QUUi4MLxRY.Bo9oLFwV8_g ):
My original query was: Investigate the credibility that Methylene blue helps mitochondria function to the extent that it is clinically useful for neurological and neuroimmune conditions such as epilepsy, myalgic encephalomyelitis, mitochondrial myopathy, mitochondrial triggered atypical periodic paralysis (eg MTATP6 mutation caused). Critically evaluate the research are there any vested interests? What about sample size? Was it RCT double blinded or survey based? Are there meta analysis papers? How does it compare to other treatments and supplements in effectiveness? Why don’t conventional doctors prescribe this? What is more effective (though concentrate on research on Methylene blue)?
