How about a ME/CFS Snakes and Ladders forum game? A post could add either • A “Ladder” (a victory or positive experience) • A “Snake” (a setback or struggle) • A “Bonus space” (special power-ups, curveballs, or penalty spaces) Examples Snakes: Tried to push through a flare-up and now you’re wiped out for a week – back 6 spaces Ladders: Doctor finally added the word “Syndrome” to “Chronic fatigue” in your latest referral letter. Move ahead 1 spaces. Bonus Spaces - curveballs, power-ups, or penalties: Someone suggested you try yoga – lose a turn. For scale, we could imagine the board has 100 spaces. We have two 6-sided dice.
I’d like to see it as an app or online game. Where people get little criticisms of what they’re doing (why did you throw a 5? You should have thrown a different number!) bubbling up the side.
Presumably all players need to have CBT before each throw of the dice to ensure they achieve the desired score.
Nah. All that business of testable predictions is just too much trouble, and the data might still say something you don't want it to. Why go to all that bother and risk when cooking the books can be done post-hoc. It's the enlightened methodology for the 21st century.
If you accidentally hit a multiplier of 10 you are referred to a mindfulness app, go back two spaces.
Yeah, throwing the dice and keeping track of the scores is way too much bother. Instead, people can just say what square they think they are on. And, it's always possible to chop off part of the board. If things are going a bit slow, instead of a target of 100, make it 65.
In fact, let’s let people without MECFS play alongside us too! ETA: they start at 40 and only have to go half way down the snakes
