I haven't heard Bruce Barshop previously speak. However, his recent article "Promises and pitfalls of untargeted metabolomics" was very interesting. His session at the conference is titled "Metabolomics – Next Generation Diagnostics".

It seems to be taking a long time, the original was published Aug 2016.
