Micheal Osborne is a Machine Learning researcher at Oxford University who had an 18 month long bout of Long COVID and has since then become a strong advocate.

Remarkably (this is rare in my experience) he does not attribute his recovery to anything and continues being a vocal voice advocating for us.

I wanted to create this thread so we can share relevant news, updates etc. related to him and his advocacy.

He shared to Bluesky post today which I thought is a pretty good 5 facts sort of deal to give people an idea about ME

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis:

1. Sufferers have lower quality-of-life than patients with heart failure, MS & end-stage renal disease.
2. Recovery is rare.
3. Treatment is often more harmful than helpful.
4. <1/3 of med schools include it in curriculum.
5. It's the NIH's least funded disease vs burden.

I spoke with Professor Osborne in 2021 and presented my work to him. I also introduced him to some researchers I happened to know. Unfortunately there was no further collaboration. He is a really nice person and wants to help us.

I could speak to him again if there is a certain need.
