Intolerant to hot food or drink

Does anybody experience this?
Especially in low moderate and more severely affected?
And is it caused by ME or something else?

Like, I will have a spell of being OK and being careful and then mess up as messages don't seem to register quick enough.

Its caused when I drink a very hot mug of tea too soon or like eat a fresh very hot cooked meal too soon but the high ( to me) temperature of the food is the common factor not what it is.

I then get waves of bad pain in upper right quadrant (gallbladder area but no evidence it's that specifically as I've had two u/s scans for stones and both clear) and really bad nausea. The experience is as if I have burned or scalded myself internally but no tongue or throat burn. The symptoms then last about 3 or 4 weeks until they gradually fade.

I've only really had this since I deteriorated a year ago. Not sure if it's some new entertainment from the ME monster or is unrelated.

I have silent nocturnal reflux from Gerd but it's stable, now mild and never had these intense symptoms from it

Atm struggling to be taken seriously, Gastro have just rejected my GP referral and just feeling totally demoralised.

I have problems with both very hot and very cold foods and liquids.

I have persistent indigestion which began in my teens. (I'm now in my 60s.)

I was diagnosed and treated for a duodenal ulcer in my 20s..

I was diagnosed with gastritis in my 40s. I take PPIs and have done for a long time.

What I know now is that I have probably been hypothyroid since birth or soon after birth but was not treated until I was 55. One effect of untreated hypothyroidism is low stomach acid, which might explain some or all of my historical gut problems. I now know that if people have low stomach acid the best treatment is to increase acid levels rather than suppress it with PPIs but I was a couple of decades late in finding that out. Another issue is that I am on permanent NSAIDs (prescribed) for chronic pain and the PPIs help with the effects of those on the gut.

I think gut problems are extremely common and the causes are numerous. Whether the problems you have are caused by ME or something else I'm not qualified to say or even speculate.

I have this, anything warmer than room temperature makes me feel worse when it comes to GI and OI issues. I have a small USB powered fan to cool down my food before I eat it. Since I can only drink water anyway it's only a problem when it comes to food. Cold food (unless it's very cold) is fine for some reason.
