When I overdo it, how long I can remain in one position (either sitting or lying) drops because the skin becomes sore from the pressure.
An interesting aspect of this is, unlike many symptoms, it’s visible: my skin reddens so an interested scientist or clinician could measure times and notice the fluctuations.
Some from the biopsychosocial school might try to dismiss the symptom/sign as deconditioning but that doesn’t explain the fluctuations.

Some research findings that may tie in with this
“Pressure pain threshold decreased in ME/CFS patients with or without fibromyalgia after head-up tilt test (HUT), but did not change post-HUT in healthy controls”

“Pain thresholds, measured in the skin web between thumb and index finger, increased in control subjects with exercise while it decreased in the CFS subjects”
