Distinguish ADHD symptoms from ME/CFS symptoms?

ME/CFS is acquired, while a diagnosis of ADHD and autism need to be supported by a life history
Disagree. I never had ADHD as a kid but gradually developed symptoms starting in my late teens. I now struggle to view television shows while retaining what has happened and who is who, I keep drifting off in to thinking about something else.

Edit: I do have Autism but that was life long whereas the ADHD symptoms came later.

Well it is factually correct to say a diagnosis of ADHD will largely depend on assessing life history, especially childhood behaviour, that was certainly my experience at an assessment two years ago. Whether it is possible for a kind of "ADHD" to develop later in life is an interesting question for sure, but I don't think that is accepted by current definitions. Personally I believe all psychiatric "knowledge" is provisional at best. For instance Autism and ADHD have only been accepted as co-existing fairly recently, from having been mutually excluding criteria earlier. I think how ADHD symptoms present themselves is accepted to vary depending on life stage. Late teens is not that late to be aware of something that could have put down to Autism earlier maybe?
