Of course, lack of research funding is an issue. Interestingly they mention genetic studies - multiple large GWAS studies have bee needed to identify genes which increased/decrease risk of developing dementia - which should help to target research.
In ME/CFS the first big GWAS is underway - still recruiting - DecodeME.
