Such a coincidence!
last week I was talking to a fellow neurologist who , upon reviewing my symptoms, told me that I should have a blood test for BY syndrome.
I had never heard about this syndrome, so now it´s a good time to improve my knowledge.
It seems that ther is not a comercial lab test...
I agree, I think the authors did a in depth study of fatigue and exercise intolerance , another positive points are the number of patients and the time span of the sudy.
I have "atypical" ME, meaning that I had some similar, less intense symptoms such as muscle pain and ftigue following...
Very interesting information, in both studies the patients had objective neurological signs and symptoms, my question is, could these findings be generalized to a broader group without these signs and symptoms?
I think there is a group of Italians who have been studying the muscle in patientes with ME.
It seems thet this was a very promisisng field of research a few decades ago but somehow the interest faded away

In the comment section in JAMA´s recent paper by Dr. Komaroff there is a very intriguing letter from a retired pysician.
He says he encountered three patients who had a remission from ME after serious illnes or physycal trauma:
-peritonitis
-Broken arm
-Severe burning of the hand...
As some people here know, I´m a pwME and a medical oncologist.
After getting sick in the winter of 2015, I started to dig in the world of a unknown illness. One of the things the rang my alarms was the "X Doctor´s protocol" phenomenon.
