Using PCs versus laptops when you're mostly in or on your bed

I have a new PC winging its way to me. Will report back on whether I can use it from bed. I could technically use it at a desk, but only for shorter lengths of time, and it could run me down big time. Haven't been able to sit at a desk for nearly 10 years.

Phase III Rituximab Trial - News

I haven't been hit by this the way others have. Maybe I didn't have high expectations or it was an 'I'll believe it when I see it' mentality, however on the subject of the SMC, they've been getting a lot of stick on George Monbiot's account recently. I'm sure you've probably had posts on this...

    Wessely gets touchy feely

Oi you, The Piano was a great soundtrack. I'll not have a word said against it!

    Wessely gets touchy feely

I'm sure feeling with their mind and thinking with their soul was what that profession were up to with conversion therapy. I won't forget what they did to my other community.

Using PCs versus laptops when you're mostly in or on your bed

@Wonko - I think the overbed table might be one of the best options. Though ideally I'd like less rather than more furniture in my room! Fat chance.

Using PCs versus laptops when you're mostly in or on your bed

@MarcNotMark - I'd never heard of a monitor ceiling mount. My ceiling is probably higher than a lot of modern builds.

Using PCs versus laptops when you're mostly in or on your bed

I'd be using it for close up stuff like 3D modelling and other art related stuff, plus writing, so I'd need the screen fairly close. Right now I'm at the window, which is kind of the best place from a space perspective, but I could move the bed against a solid wall - where it used to be - if I...

Using PCs versus laptops when you're mostly in or on your bed

We also have a Members Only thread on the topic: Using PCs, laptops: what's your set up? ******* I'm putting this in lifestyle management right now, but I wondered whether it was more general. The issue though is the problem of not being able to sit upright at a desk for any length of time...

Involuntary movements: Seizures, tremors, tics, twitches, myoclonus

Aw, I was just about to post the video too. ;)

Are there symptoms you had in the early stages of ME that you no longer get?

@Viola - yes I used to get nausea too. Haven't had that in many years. There's probably other symptoms I no longer get.

@Wonko - yeah, the memory thing really trips us up, doesn't it?:laugh::laugh::banghead:

Are there symptoms you had in the early stages of ME that you no longer get?

In the course of chat on another thread, I remembered that I used to get pins and needles a lot after I fell ill. It ran for years, before disappearing. I'd say I almost never get pins and needles now. It's been decades since it was an ME symptom for me. I also used to find my skin was painful...

Getting Glasses When You Have ME-related Variable Eyesight

When I first fell ill with the original virus, my eyesight seemed to coincidentally get worse. I had to go to the optician who prescribed reading glasses that were horrendous to use. The next optician I visited a couple of years later thought they were way too strong for me. But I did have...

Involuntary movements: Seizures, tremors, tics, twitches, myoclonus

@Wonko - that's the problem, isn't it - we end up with background noise in terms of symptoms we've lost touch with but they're still there. They became the new normal a long time ago.

Involuntary movements: Seizures, tremors, tics, twitches, myoclonus

Ah, that's interesting. As for the facial twitching - I think mine was in the same areas you describe. But have not had it for a long time. I was reminded of another unrelated symptom I've not had in ages - more than one really - but this one is pins and needles. Don't see ME sufferers I...

    Do you have throat problems?

My current diet has reduced the cough considerably. It gets worse when I eat too many sweet things which I was mostly not taking for a while there. Drinking a lot of water certainly helps.
