I forgot to add - I didn't get PEM on or after (for 3 days) the vet visits, and managed to do other things like walking to shops (about half a mile) and back, without getting PEM during the 3 days after. After 3 days I can be fairly sure that I've escaped PEM.
I'm still wary of taking sumac...
Just a quick update.
I've had to take my cat to the vet a few times recently for dental work and check-ups, and I have to get a lift or taxi there (which is one of the hardest parts to organise due to ME).
But the actual visits have definitely been improved by taking sumac, notably the early...
I've done the ACTH stimulation test which came back normal, but I do (often) have insomnia. Also, during the test, my gut swelled up severely, I think because I was told to sit still, and it was very uncomfortable.
I'm still able to wash my feet by putting them one-by-one in the sink, although it takes some balancing! Not helped by the fact that both my feet are incredibly ticklish underneath. Sometimes I have had to put a bowl of water in the bath and sit on the edge washing them, although that takes...
I tend to get a runny nose, sneezing and sometimes coughing but it's during the hayfever period, so I assume it's due to hayfever, which I didn't have before ME. I think that the coughing is due to blocked ears unblocking.
I understand that the bill is being revised:
"Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall told Labour MPs that claimants of the personal independence payment (Pip) will continue to receive what they currently get, as will recipients of the health element of universal credit. Instead, planned cuts...
It's the penultimate sentence in your first message:
"In conclusion, the study established an ecological chain: cheese consumption leads to increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and alters immune cell phenotypes—specifically, increasing the percentage of CD3-lymphocytes and IgD on IgD+...
Not sure if I'm being thick as often nowadays, but the study seemed to find the opposite of what was reported.
Cheese consumption and HDL cholesterol were expected to reduce the risk of developing CFS, but they increased it?
Didn't you have any anaesthetic for the biopsy???
I was told that I wouldn't be able to have any anaesthetic, even if I went private. I made it clear that because of that, I wouldn't have a biopsy.
I like the last sentence:
"No definite conclusions should be drawn before a randomized study has been performed."
Much better than the usual statements that more research is needed or that the treatment looks really good.
I stopped having tests before I got ME, I think.
The first test I had I was asked whether I was a virgin because I was so tense. I should have replied that no, but my boyfriend didn't have a cold metal dick with a sharp object on the end!
I subsequently drank a fair quantity of alcohol before...
Abused boy became man with ME:
"When he was 28, Robson received a phone call that changed everything.
"It was the then (police) vice squad and they said: 'We hear you were one of Lindsay Brown's boys.' I'll never forget the words the girl on the phone used.
"The effect on me was catastrophic...
Cornwall Mum running to raise funds for guide dog for autistic daughter with ME
Mother plans to run around Cornwall in six days
A woman from Cornwall is embarking on a challenge, running the whole length of the Cornish coast path within six days, to raise money to pay for an autism assistance...
I had slowed movement for two days recently, on one occasion slowing me down considerably when taking delivery of some groceries. I had to actually apologise to the deliverer for my slowness. I haven't had it since, and don't recall having it before, although I do often get slow when I have...
Yes, this is fairly normal for me. I usually feel like sh%t first thing, then generally grotty after eating, for about an hour or two, then gradually improve from about 1500.
