The feeling of being "poisoned" - what do we know about it?

I never understood what people exactly mean with "poisened". My PEM and general symptoms are very much a mix of feeling like I am just about getting the flu and a migraine with some orthostatic problems randomly mixed in. Maybe I just don't experience it?

Why some people with ME/CFS react more strongly to medications

Ah, okay, I see. I feel that way after a certain amount of alcohol. I’m not sure I would call this a general sensitivity to drugs, though; this seems like a pretty specific sensitivity to two substances. It’s interesting to hear of it with antihistamines because usually people only talk about...

Exploring a genetic basis for the metabolic perturbations in ME/CFS using UK Biobank, 2025, Armstrong et al

Results That's a lot of biomarkers that were different between the ME/CFS and HC groups. That's surprising and interesting in itself. I feel that we might have seen data on plasma features in the UK Biobank before? There's the answer to the confounders. Some adjustments were made. I'm...

Why some people with ME/CFS react more strongly to medications

I just felt twice as deplorable on those two substances where I could tolerate them normally before I had me/CFS. I go really pale on them which is really weird. One popular antihistamine/sedative injection for a migraine caused an anaphylactic reaction which is probably a seperate thing.

Post COVID Migraine in a Six Day Cycle

I also had a look at studies on transdermal absorption when I was initially looking into this and IIRC there were quite a lot of contradictory ones but in the end I landed on it sounding as though there was reasonable absorption particularly if the concentration of Mg in the water is high, and...

How do we stop charities and influencers spreading bio-babble about ME/CFS?'

Maybe the point is that doctors wouldn't understand that by the term 'neuropsychiatric'. And we're talking about the gap between what patients and doctors understand things to mean, for which drivel perpetuated via the internet is in no small way responsible.

...efforts to classify ME/CFS as X. Sure, but when you google the term, you often get lots of lists with anxiety, depression, addiction, migraine headaches, seizures, eating disorders, uncontrolled anger and so on. Not PD, HD, AD etc. At least in my experience, those are spoken about as...
