Rethinking the treatment of CFS — a reanalysis and evaluation of findings from a recent major trial of GET and CBT (2018) Wilshire et al.

From Michael Sharpe: Is he trying to be funny? He's not seriously trying to imply that the authors were unduly selective in the choice of data to include in their analyses is he? Words almost fail me. It's not as if the authors wouldn't have gladly used the whole trial dataset, but somebody...

The BBC didn't seem to make much use of the SMC "factsheet", which is encouraging?

Low mood, poor quality of life and high symptom impact in adolescents with chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelis, 2018, Neale et al

When I came down with M.E. as an adult my mood was rather low for a while. When I was adolescent I could be moody too, and I didn't have M.E. then. I wonder if they controlled for the above?

There are no plans to close down this thread. The only reason why it would be closed would be if multiple and persistent rule breaches were occuring which made it impossible or too onerous to moderate. It has been lively and it has kept moderation busy. But it is an important issue upon which...

Monica Greco (draft for 2017 paper) Pragmatics of explanation : creative accountability and ‘medically unexplained symptoms’

Here is my artist statement: My work explores the relationship between the tyranny of ageing and life as performance. With influences as diverse as Nietzsche and Francis Bacon, new insights are generated from both constructed and discovered discourse. Ever since I was a pre-adolescent I have...

    Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) for renal fatigue (BReF): a feasibility randomised-controlled trial - Moss-Morris +

First Esther, now Moss-Morris. The BPS brigade seem to think kidney patients are their next soft target.
