The only time i ever had a home visit was for an infection post major surgery, and that was 25yrs ago. I never tried since though tbh, i'm certain i wouldnt get it.
my GP surgery is still offering only phone appointments. You book a call (sometime on a particular day -you are not given a time...
yes this is what i was trying to say thankyou for expressing it coherently
The trouble is it falls on welcome ears/fertile ground.
Like all the other BPS crap its just another version of 'youre doing it wrong'
- your thoughts are wrong/ your feelings are wrong / your behaviour is wrong,
&...
absolutely, a GP with 'special interest' could be a dangerous nightmare. Since most of the medical education/info out there generally is pretty heinous, i'd far sooner have kind, supportive, ignorant. Than so-called well informed.
oh silly me, i meant interoceptive accuracy, not awareness. have edited original post accordingly.
I know what interoception is, i enjoy mindfulness meditation. But other than heart rate & breathing, which can be accessed/observed from outside, no therapist can tell me whether what i am...
I must say that every medical interaction i have had in which i have made a point of STARTING with that, has gone better than where i haven't, so i can certainly second that advice.
We shouldnt have to tiptoe around their insecurities & ego, but what should be & what happens in reality are...
And how, pray tell, does a therapist help someone enhance their interoceptive accuracy? Since they are not inside the person's body how can they have the arrogance to think they can tell the person who IS inside, how to accurately interpret it!?
Patients with higher scores in depression the SS...
from the article
yeah, because of course the body doesnt heal from infections or wounds when its unsafe, such as in POW camps, or long term imprisonment or long term abuse, or any of the umpteen other massively dangerous situations people find themselves in where they and their bodies are in...
I never heard of the supplement, but i am certain that CFS cannot be induced by making an animal do exercise. thats absurd. Over exercising isnt an established way of inducing CFS.
This shows the researchers dont even know what CFS is, its not feeling utterly knackered because you've done too...
So pleased you're sticking with the project @dave30th
its a joy to be able to contribute, your work makes such a difference, and sadly is still so sorely needed
Indeed. I have remarked before here on S4 that for many ME sufferers who take their own lives, it is voluntary euthanasia rather than suicide.
I know i have considered ending it many times & am not even that severe compared to many. I carry on because i dont want to traumatise the people who...
Exactly Kitty.
And i think a factor is whether their twitter (or whatever) account is
'Joe Blogs 129'
with a photo of him in a beanie hat with a rucksack, & the description reading "keen hiker & lover of red wine"
or
'Dr Joe Blogs MD'
with a phot of him in white coat with stethoscope...
I only remember Dr Charles Shepherd (some years ago) talking about some errors of fact in Osler's Web. I dont know what the errors were, I have the impression the were things that were about events in the UK/British Drs but i cant be sure (its a long time ago)
But it put me off reading that...
How amazing Arnie Pie! Thank you for sharing.
I hope the more negative after effects will dissipate in time so it will be a wholly positive thing for at least someone :)
I bathe in magnesium flakes & i must say a soak in that or dead sea salts does seem to calm & relax me a lot more than a bath with regular bubbles, which may of course be pure placebo! I rinse my 'delicate areas' afterwards, but have never experiences irritation. Magnesium 'oil' itches like...
This is my message Wyva, hope the project goes well.
To patients with ME/CFS in Hungary: You are not alone, we are with you, there are many Drs & Scientists around the world working with/for us to find the cause & treatments. I know it is very hard, but please hang on, there is hope.
In...
They have used that line or something very similar but about ME/CFS in the past. They may have used strange rather than bizarre, but it definitely rings a bell.
Me neither John, in fact I have missed flu/infections for a few days on several occasions because the experience, the sensation, is indistinguishable. The only things that prompts me question whether i have an actual fever & take my temperature, is when
a) i get a bad cough
b) the cognitive...
