    The first message in this thread claims "We learn nothing about nutrition, claim medical students". I've read many times that when nutrition is taught in medical schools it is very basic and pretty much worthless.

    I have no idea how old you are, @brf , however, aging does cause our veins to be more prominent, especially with gravity as someone else mentioned. As we get older our subcutaneous fat thins out causing our veins to be much more noticeable.

    I don't agree with this at all. I think that nutrition should be taught at medical school and there should be refresher courses every so many years. I believe that a lot of health conditions today are the result of eating poor diets and lack of physical activity. You can't fix that with the...

    It sounds like you could have been dehydrated. That would certainly cause your veins to be less prominent. And it could also explain why you were feeling drained. Make sure you drink some water throughout the day as it is more hydrating than coffee; caffeine is dehydrating.

    Alvin, a lot of people already take Ibuprofen long term for conditions such as arthritis pain. I would think that if there were going to be long term risks, we would know about them by now.

    The problem with Alzheimers is that symptoms don't start appearing until approximately 10 years after the disease starts. So unless there is a test that can detect this illness early on, it's a bit late to be starting treatment after the fact.

    I was the same. My levels went from 27 to just under 100 after meno. According to my doctor that usually happens post meno.
