I thought I saw it mentioned that Maeve was vegetarian? Also she wasn’t happy about being given “animal fats” (possibly milk) did you get any sense of that? personally I’m veggie and milk can give me really bad IBS so I sympathise with Maeve, these can look like disordered eating to those who...

Thanks, I can’t keep up with the various permutations! Suffice to say there are boards where Council and NHS work together.

It’s hard to know, as we don’t see the 6,600 page bundle of evidence. I’m absolutely willing to accept a social worker hasn’t read the file. I just want to know who was writing these comments!

In areas in England (not sure about other nations) the local Council and local NHS have a local “health and well-being” board also known as ICB = integrated care board, which plans health and social care needs. I think this high level planning is a key area where S/VS ME care needs to be...

There’s a lot of DCC documents, they would include referrals, social worker notes etc. It’s basically their file of the work with Maeve and Sarah. Unlikely to be info from DCC on ME to employees, that would be NIcE, NHS or a ME charity document they might have copied for info.

DCC is Devon County Council, they have the responsibility for Adult Social Care, Safeguarding referrals and Social Workers. It’s right that they consider FIDA/Munchausens by proxy, what’s concerning is that they seemed to have spent a lot more time thinking about that than Maeve’s care at home.

To be fair C Parker wasn’t particularly involved with Maeve and seems to have mainly worked in the period Jan-March, with just odd bits of involvement, I think it’s the latter. However it begs the question, if C Parker didn’t meet Maeve and Sarah, who at DCC wrote those notes?

Going back to mentions of Munchausens, FDI and coercive control. It sounds like Sean O’Neill did a word search on the Devon CountyCouncil notes. One tweeter has said the numbers they heard were 9 times Munchausens by proxy 32 times FDIA [facetious disorder imposed on another aka Munchausens by...

Finished for today, resume at 10am tomorrow with Beth Thompson (possibly nurse?mentioned last week by poss Dr Warren?) and Dr Fox. I don’t envy @Nightsong taking notes, but thank you so much. The morning was lots of specifics about food, amounts, nutrients, calories, feeding happening/not...

Sean O’Neill questioning C Parker DCC social worker - there are 9 references to Munchausens, FDI more, coercion and control, more, in the DCC paperwork. CP says not aware of that.

Tori Richard’s, was Clinical Matron for Gastro now giving evidence. Talking about Lowmon ward (the eating disorder ward) Maeve was sent there as she’d been there before, that was the Bed Mgmt decision, not hers.

The Trust Representative asked this question of Dr Blackburn - views on the risks and benefits of PEG should have been explored? At the time, no. With hindsight, might think differently.

Lots of detail today, it feels to me like more of a timeline is appearing and we’re getting the gaps filled in, frustratingly it is still a case of Drs seeming to say “well that’s a worry” scratching their head and walking off.

Looks like there’s a lot of detail being given in evidence about feeding, and the community dietetics team. Not up to going through it today, so just bringing one important update. Coroner says she’ll give interim decision on Friday week, 9 Aug 24
