Opinion: ‘You don’t want to get better’: the outdated treatment of ME/CFS patients is a national scandal - George Monbiot

Well they can always try to sue the Guardian for defamation/s They don’t have the media power to fight George. They’d do well to keep their heads down and stick to their echo chambers.

A general thread on the PACE trial!

This would be something that would be great for George Monbiot to highlight, as he seems to have gone all in on this, could he be advised the clock is ticking?

[MUS] are common in women in tertiary neurological healthcare center: A survey cohort study of persons investigated for suspected [MS] 2024 Novakova+

How would I know if I have MS? Genuine question. As far as I can tell it’s picked up via testing, but I’ve never been tested. It’s never been considered as a possible cause of my symptoms, but people frequently ask if I’ve got MS because I’m just like this or that person who has it.

Is there a constant anti-viral response?

I was always the type to work hard but get some sort of “bug” if I went on holiday. Finish an intensive project then come down with a sore throat. Now, it happens after I go to the supermarket AND the post office. Maybe it’s always been the result of exhausting my system.

Is there a constant anti-viral response?

This is exactly what I think is part of it. I cough, look “sick” but tell people it’s just a “fake” illness and they can’t catch it, I’m not infected. Although I did pick up a virus this week and am currently very infected and feeling sorry for myself!

Channel 4 News 19 February 2024: Features Clare Norton, mother of Merryn Crofts

It really was so measured and sensible. What person seeing it could disagree that people who evidently have a physical disease should be disbelieved? Well, I can think of a few, and their time at the top has already passed.

I liked the ME Dr Tarek (couldn’t see his name under my subtitles) who said something about - we don’t know how to treat dementia, we don’t know how to treat 90% of neurological disorders but we don’t say they don’t exist, sorry we’re not going to help

    Rice cookers?

I use the Lakeland mini. It cooks perfect rice for 1-2 people. I dump it in and it beeps when it’s ready, keeping it warm for hours. I leave the lid off and use it for porridge or soup warming. Non stick inner pot is simple to clean.
