Do they fully understand what severe Long Covid can mean?
Exclusion criteria:
Blood clotting conditions
Do they check for clotting issues that some pwLC report? Most would probably be undiagnosed.
I don’t agree with that interpretation in general, but I can understand why someone with ME/CFS would be very wary of victim blaming.
I have a close friend that’s genetically predisposed to cancer, I can’t think or any situation where she would be blamed for getting cancer.
Is it proven that >10 day infections become chronic in general, for Covid-19 or for any of the other mentioned infections?
They use both PACS and Long COVID (LC), and I don’t understand what they mean with either.
The phone won’t let me copy any more text, but figure 1 seems to define LC as...
It sucks - I’m sorry you experience it as well.
They also don’t understand how traumatizing gaslighting has been and why I’m extremly critical of anything that’s being said about me or my illness. Even though I’m bedbound because of the gaslighting. I don’t over-focus or catastrophize, I...
When can it be justified as a part of care?
My personal experience as a 29 yo «child» to my parents is that every single question from healthcare workers to my parents about my mental health has created enormous issues for me. I had to get my therapist (phd) to write a statement to get them...
Yeah, I think you’re right. I might have jumped to conclusions, I believe I googled LDH Leukemia and found that elevated LDH was a poor sign, and therefore thought that normal LDH was good. My bad!
Really, really important message. For 99 % of people in my life, I only exist through my phone. I have not physically met anyone since July except for my parents, sisters and medical staff.
Could a higher selection be dependent on genetic mutations like above?
It seems to be beneficial for certain types of cancer according to my googling. Plausible?
This is what happened in the study at the beginning of this comment.
@PhD Student @Bham
I appreciate that you show an interest in ME/CFS.
Please read this as context, and please don’t make any of the same mistakes.

Also, just because your professor says that something is «good enough», that doesn’t...
«I want to help, therefore anything I do is «to help»».
IMO this is probably the most common logical fallacy for your regular Joe. There are probably other ones in play for the BPS researchers and the main people.
My last take is that it feels like the writers were trying to justify the use of AI, and therefore might have chosen descriptions and phrases about ME/CFS that mesh well with how they want to talk about AI.
Creating the «perfect» problem for the tool, rather than picking the right tool for the...
Is the presence of relatively more B cells always caused by a relative increase to the need for those cells (i.e. that something is telling the body to make more of them), or can it be caused by the presences of more building blocks of that B cell, even if those building blocks were ordered for...
I actually meant damage as in structural damage to something, but your interpretation made me realize that structural damage doesn’t have to equal symptoms and that symptoms doesn’t have to equal structural damage. Or relevant damage/symptoms.
Thank you for explaining!
There are better and worse ways of doing things, and there’s a threshold along that scale that says «good enough for science». If you make a conscious or unconscious decision to say something over something else, and the chosen way isn’t «good enough for science», then you’re «wrong» in all...
I’m going to ask the newbie questions:
Do we have any reason to believe that VH-30 causes any damage, or is this more of a downstream effect of something else? Both?
If B-cell depletion doesn’t work as a treatment (neither short or long term), does that mean that the B-cells aren’t directly...
