Conclusion: This study confirms that female ME/CFS patients have a reduction in exercise capacity in response to a second day CPET. These results are similar to published results in female ME/CFS populations. Patients diagnosed with ICF show a different response on day 2, more similar to...

Efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy targeting severe fatigue following COVID-19: results of a randomized controlled trial 2023, Kuut, Knoop et al

"This means that it is possible to recover from CFS without reaching a physical activity level that is within normal limits." Translation: "This means whatever I want it to mean."

Efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy targeting severe fatigue following COVID-19: results of a randomized controlled trial 2023, Kuut, Knoop et al

Somatic attribution by patients is not the problem. Non-somatic (i.e. psychosomatic) attribution by the authors is the problem. It is the assumption soaked sand upon which they have built their grand theoretical castle. Remove it and the whole thing collapses.

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

Yep. A ruthless cult by any other name is still a ruthless cult, and this one is right in the heart of modern mainstream medicine, and is now consumed entirely with its own perpetuation and expansion, actual real-world consequences for patients be damned. They are conceding nothing, and are...

Efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy targeting severe fatigue following COVID-19: results of a randomized controlled trial 2023, Kuut, Knoop et al

Dr Charles Shepherd, medical adviser for the ME Association, said: “It is disappointing but not surprising to find that these doctors and researchers, many of whom have devoted a large part of their professional life to trying to persuade their colleagues that ME/CFS is caused by abnormal...

Snippets from White P et al. "Eight major errors in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline [...]" [for ME/CFS]

Gets better. From the original definition by William James (bolding mine): The great snare of the psychologist is the confusion of his own standpoint with that of the mental fact about which he is making his report. I shall hereafter call this the 'psychologist's fallacy' par excellence...

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

Very grateful that NICE is taking up this fight directly and publicly. I am very tired of patients having to do medicine's dirty work for them, and taking all the shit for it. Time the profession got to cleaning out its own house. I wish we had a video of that proceeding to show the world...

The nanoneedle salt stress test – too good a clue to leave abandoned on the lab bench?

Besides establishing PEM as a real thing, this is the most promising research finding I have seen, found (IIRC) by three independent groups using three different methods. Yet...?

Which raises the possibility that ME and MS related conditions. If the result is valid, of course. I have no idea if it is or not.

Worth repeating. The mainstream 'experts' just view stuff like LP, et al, as another form of placebo.
