This is exactly my feeling. It is beyond patronising. It's in line with my main objection to the whole 'misinterpreting normal bodily sensation leads to aberrant illness beliefs' theory. - DO THEY THINK I'M F-ING THICK?! Do they think I cant tell the difference between the pain & tiredness one...
I think you're right! I also think that with some 'therapy' that might be a lucky escape for some people.
Yes same for me. with my feelings too. Observing 'i am anxious' without that being a big deal or something to get worked up about. softening towards uncomfortable feelings, just allowing...
Thoroughly agree Peter. Personally i am a fan of what i have been taught to be mindfulness meditation, for the reasons you share. But unfortunately 'mindfulness' has become a fashionable word & is now used to describe all kinds of things which seem utterly contrary to everything i have learned...

Yet more evidence of methodological flaws & bias in psych research? what?! never!:rolleyes:
I'm no great fan of NLP but @Nancy Blake 's interesting response to the wikipedia article about NLP is here.

Given that she reports rather similar issues with wiki editing as we do for the ME/CFS pages I think at least...
Oh my God. This is so bad. The CFS edition of the programme will be on prime time ITN... "and now in a special report, we reveal what is being done to help millions with a much misunderstood disease, regain their health & lives, in the face of terrorist-like opposition & abuse of those...
Oh my, i love this! have you read some of her other articles? just excellent & so great to hear psychotherapists engaging in this way. Such a good intro to the mind boggling nonsense of the BPS hypothesis
I use a very firm pocket sprung with 2 thick feather & down mattress toppers - so the support is very firm but no pressure point issues. I cant get on with memory foam because i find it too hot plus it takes effort to turn over -to get yourself out of the dip created by your body when you sink...
oh, duh, i was being dense:rolleyes: - when it said "You can email contact at this domain" on the site i interpreted that to simply mean that emailing them at their domain was possible, not that the last 4 words were the email address. Now i understand LOL :D
Apologies for thread tangenting.
Thanks @Cheesus
So i in the 'to' box on my email I just put atthedomainname.org i dont have a to put anything before the at symbol then? Sorry to derail the thread, but i think it'd be good to keep saying thank you - you never know when they might want to give some more away in the future :)
Very, VERY good. Cogent, professional submission. Huge thanks to all who put this together. Lets hope the NIH/CDC listen & act accordingly. To my mind this is critical if they are not to waste further money, time & more yrs of our lives on research which studies a bunch of people who're 'tired'...
thanks Joh & @Binkie4
ETA The pineapple fund website says you can "email contact at this domain" but gives no actual address ??? i dont know what that means am i being dense?
thank you so much for that laugh @Jonathan Edwards & @Valentijn . I was just feeling so demoralised & infuriated, feeling that this tide of bullshit will never end, i needed that giggle so much
Dont forget, that PACE was "a great great trial"
