Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

I really would like to see the model, and would also like to see many other epidemiologists and scientists (including ones critical of the original Imperial model and SAGE decisions), have a look at this model. We’ve already been down a disastrous road before in the UK, and again it seems to be...

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

I don’t think this is going to work out well.. Lots of people are still going to be travelling into and going to work in the UK. This particularly involves all manufacturing and construction industries. Still a big lack of clarity. And doesn’t seem to be about “essential work”, as first thought.

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

@Invisible Woman the Met police were on the News yesterday saying they had been put in a “very very difficult position” and that the govt had not communicated with them at all about how they were supposed to deal with or enforce these new rules. It seems they were just as much in the dark as...

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

I don’t think it’s fake news: from what I understand, They’ve already tested people; however it was a small sample size so far. They were planning on testing the entire population with the help of the company mentioned in the article, but since there’s been a shortage from that company from the...

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

I feel calmer now. Except as soon as I started feeling a bit calmer, a few worries have entered my head 1) what about the tube: we’ve seen scenes of the tube this past week absolutely packed with people, as they had cut the no of tube stops 2)what about supermarkets: it’s absolute chaos in...

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

I think I may be in the vulnerable group, judging by the list, due to severe asthma (defined as taking inhaled steroids + another inhaler, which I do take, plus also another medication), so I’ll post it if I get it.

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

Whether or not that was their aim, it seems to me that it will still be a side effect? Ie by not mass testing people inc healthcare workers, not doing contact tracing, not doing effective social distancing (Infact making things worse eg people crammed onto a smaller number of tubes, people...

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

This. My pain has been getting worse and I can’t go into hospital. Today, no new measures. Johnson just asking people to stay away from others but also that going out and about is good for mental health. You know what else is good for mental health? Having a govt that will close down shops...

UK - Resources for help getting food during quarantine and other supermarket related problems

@Arnie Pye Amazon has a few bits of food still available. We’ve been getting bits and pieces from there. There are some online ready meal delivery shops still available - like Cook Food. However these are far too expensive for every day food, more for entertaining. Did a quick google search and...

UK: Coronavirus Bill could leave thousands of Disabled people without support

Thanks for explaining. That’s terrible, a very frightening prospect. The solution would have been to put more money and resources into Social services and care, so people would have had safe homes to go back to, but no.

They do have an online website, I’ve bought from them before. The person I know who works in a shop in my local area selling home accessories, also has an online store. Since people can’t be relied upon to behave as they should, the govt should have closed down all outdoor areas (parks...
