Difficult to say, pain can be part of it, but it's not 'pain' as I understand it - it's just unpleasant noise that can't be ignored for long, is 'unpleasant', and quite distracting.
Even very high levels of it aren't painful per say, but they can prevent any other activity, especially cognitive...
I wonder if anyone has considered that CBT, and attempting to 'cure' unhelpful beliefs/behaviours may actually set up negative re-enforcement patterns of thinking and behaviour, and thus turn perfectly normal post viral symptoms into ME.
Trying to fight the way nature has evolved us to think...
oh.
I get that from time to time, from chinese dishes, most often from buffets (I used to occasionally go to such things).
I've always assumed it was down to the toxic stuff produced by something in poorly stored cooked rice i.e. left out too long at room temperature after cooking.
That I was...
Yes, but look at it from the point of view of a shop keeper.
Most shops don't want customers to be ill, especially if it looks like they might be contributing to that. So, if pushed by public opinion, they will take steps basically to say 'you didn't get it from here, or of you did it wasn't...
Thank you @meg22
I've, almost literally, just managed to amend and place my order.
30 minutes ago it would let me see the order but clicking on amend 'crashed' the site - giving the 'technical hiccup' page.
10 minutes ago amend was suddenly working.
So, for now, I'm reasonably happy with my...
Madness.
Have these people never had a noticeable headache?
Did ibuprofen not make it go away or reduce it?
How can they say there is 'no evidence' when most people have this 'evidence' built into their very lives?
Slightly to the point - on what basis was ibuprofen given a license if it is...
Thank you @JemPD
It eventually timed out the spinning circle and gave me a log in dialog.
I have now established that it is not a password issue, as I tried my old george password and it rejected it.
So them merging the accounts today is probably coincidence.
(Still not sure how the accounts...
So..people with long term pain don't suddenly not have long term pain after being given a pill, when you stop giving them pills?
Long term pain treatment isn't like a plaster cast for a broken leg.
It's more like oxygen for someone with COPD.
I would have suicided years ago without 'sort of'...
A belated update with an unrelated question;
My last food parcel arrived on Friday.
It contained another generous portion of meat for this week - one fray bentos cheese and onion pie.
It did not contain any potatoes, or tinned tomatoes.
From reviews on UK supermarket sites it seems that the...
Heard of no - but as my cats pin cushion of choice, for anything claw related, I can categorically state that simply being a pin cushion used in such a fashion is painful.
The pain may distract from other forms of pain tho - it being more immediate.
I have not noticed any additional sweating when in PEM per say.
But...things that are likely to cause PEM, such as working on something bent over, even when sitting, usually cause excessive dripping on whatever I'm working on. I have not noticed others experiencing the same thing.
I also have...
Of course it's possible, it just seems unwise to assume that they will, apparently on the basis that exercise may be good for people who aren't sick.
Especially when there several groups of people who've experienced post - something whatsits who mainly seem to have exercise intolerance as a...
If patients are responsible for any injuries does than mean that 'notes' will now require a coloured circular sticker to be attached, in the same way as they didn/do for smokers?
Possibly purple with green dots meaning 'exerciser, do not treat for exercise related injuries'.
So...no change then.
The only thing that the numbers alter is the amount of wear and tear on doctors derision muscles.
Well known medical fact that people get sick, then they either recover or die.
Apart from the fact that it isn't true, and medicine has known this since at least 1919.
What if you feel unwell while seeking advice?
Immediate stop and then seek advice, then immediately stop because you feel unwell, so seek advice,......
Someone hasn't given any thought to breaking out of this advice loop at all ;)
Individualised guidelines I see.
Doesn't matter what's wrong with you, we advise you do exactly what we recommend everyone do.
Someone, well....lots of someone's, got paid actual money, and spent weeks, to come up with this.
Does it actually matter what they meant, or that it's badly worded - what matters is that some people may see what they have written as justification, and an opportunity, for various unhelpful policies, 'treatments' and media coverage.
Much as NICE's 'exercise may not be the best option for...
