HPV vaccination and risk of ME/CFS

I think there is a not insignificant cohort for whom vaccination is a definite trigger. Given the ME historical links to polio i did find the temporary paralysis effect from HPV interesting - i don' t know how common this is to know if it' s significant.

15 Nov 2017 | Invest in ME offering remote-linked robots to children with ME to help end isolation

There was a father whose son had an autoimmune disease trying hard to get this into Scottish Education ( radio coverage earlier this year). Change is not made easily within the Scottish system- he was having a helluva try though. It seems a great model for primary

    Help for bedbound aunt

My aunt is 69 years old. She developed ME shortly after a trip to India, although she has had numerous illnesses suggesting a poorly functioning immune system for years, together with thyroid issues when in her 20s ( partial thyroidectomy), and symptoms of a hypoactive thyroid response now. She...

Coyne: Stop using the Adverse Childhood Experiences Checklist to make claims about trauma causing physical and mental health problems

I would agree that some thrive ( there are those who seem to continually run on adrenaline and love it) and that we are not all wired for fight or flight - but we can become so via prolonged stress - and those epigenetic switches are inheritable ( in rodents anyway) I do have a friend who does...

Coyne: Stop using the Adverse Childhood Experiences Checklist to make claims about trauma causing physical and mental health problems

ACE is a " buzz" phrase which is filtering into many aspects of health and life. Adverse effects will no doubt affect some people more than others - it will be dependent on individual situations and the support available. There is no doubt that prolonged stress presses epigenetic buttons, and...

Esther Crawley talk at TEDxBristol, Thurs 2nd Bristol - "Disrupting Your View Of ME"

She' s a scientist (?). The only way to deal with this is to counter narrative with facts and references. The claim re children is untrue - Dowsett + Colby researched school attendance as indicator for ME in 1990s, ( i think) and published a study on it. Most can be debunked in a similar...

Vitamin D status in chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis: a cohort study from the North-West of England

UK vit D " normal range" is very low ( as it is based on bone health). So normal dosn' t count for much.
