David Tuller: Trial By Error: My Berkeley-Backed Crowdfunding Campaign

I think it works the other way around. We are ahead of them. It is about 6.40pm here now and about 10.40am there, so we will hit midnight before PDT. So I think it will be wee small hours of 1st May for us when the pay window shuts? Edited a few times to work it all out... They are 8 hours...

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

Good presentation @Amw66 . I'm about 1/3 way through. So many of the things he says here apply to ME as well. I retweeted Dr Malhotra's tweet with a comment. And he must have been online as he retweeted my tweet. :) As one of those strange coincidences: I was watching a video yesterday...

What is Action for ME's current (March 2018) position on the PACE trial?

I appreciate the addition of this statement on the AfME site: https://www.actionforme.org.uk/resources/questions-and-answers/what-are-get-and-cbt/ Thank you Clare, I think this will help protect new patients:

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

Indeed, I don't deny the need to eat less, and to continue to do so after the "diet" ends. I just suspect that the current paradigm where "low fat" foods are pushed as "healthy" is counter productive & may in fact be stimulating appetite - and so reducing any aspiring dieters' chances of...

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

I know, and I was replying with some reasoning that would lift at least some of that blame off the shoulders of the obese. Having felt "blame" for being ill with ME, I dislike seeing others who struggle with health issues being so directly blamed for their situation. Things are rarely as...

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

Okay - what if eating LC/HF (low carb high fat) actually did increase satiety to the extent that the person's OWN mechanism for maintaining a healthy weight returned? What if, instead of calorie counting that person naturally ate less (ie fewer calories) on this way of eating, and so started to...

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

I don't know. I mean folk look at us and think we need more exercise if we want to get fitter and feel well. It sounds so simple, start small and build up stamina. Without looking very closely, the solution seems simple and logical. So, I wonder about obesity. The urge to eat and drink...

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

@Jonathan Edwards As I understand it Dr Fung's reason for calling it high fat, is that protein should not be replacing the carbs that have been dropped. So he says it's okay to add in some normal fats (ie not margarines etc) to help make the diet more palatable. He says it is then easier to be...

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

I mix it up a bit @Sbag Sometimes I get in the pattern of only eating in a 4 to 8 hour window (ie daily fasts of 16 to 20 hours), then I get bored of that and eat normally 5 days of the week and nothing (just coffee/tea with milk) on 2 non-consecutive days each week. I have also done fasts...

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

Ah interesting @Jonathan Edwards but the message must have got changed in the intervening years, because that is not the advice that seems to be given now. Lots about low fat, and low calorie, and increasing exercise (where have we heard that before) and Here take these tablets and some...

Turning badmouthing of ME/CFS on social media into something positive - a fundraising possibility

There can be many tags, some take off, some don't. Ones I see regularly are: #pwme #MyalgicE #MEcfs (gradually going out of favour) #PACEtrial #PACE #PACEscandal #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis (less often as so long) #TimeforUNREST #MillionsMissing I think adding #Justice4ME would be good, but...

But I sure ain't doing what the girl holding that banner did last year in London!! Brave lady!! It was a good message though. :)

Article: The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

Mind you having come across some of the points Dr Fung makes (for free) on his You Tube channel about how Type 2 diabetes is treated, I can see why he is frustrated with Pharma. If T2 diabetes can be effectively treated through intermittent fasting and low carb high fat eating, then those...

Leonard Jason wants ME/CFS patients to do a PEM survey

If you use the "control" button and the rolly thing on the mouse, you can make the whole page bigger & the writing is then easier to read. I agree it was tough going.

Took me forever! Maybe I over think things! But it's done :P - with one or two added comments.

Just checked over on twitter. $ doesn't work for a tag. Only the #Ju part will highlight the rest stays untagged. Same for any symbols :(

Turning badmouthing of ME/CFS on social media into something positive - a fundraising possibility

#Justice4ME or #JusticeForME Either one is fine. The word Justice is perfect to our cause I think. We have been treated unjustly by the BPS researchers, which has led to: unjust "science"; unjust medical treatment; unjust reporting; and an unjust social perception of people with ME. This...

Action for ME's administration and how that affects its views about treatment

Thank you @MEMarge So it seems he is sympathetic to the needs of ME patients and recognises the problems with GET. However he doesn't quite speak out strongly against it either. Mind you that quote is from 2010, so maybe he has had a chance to ponder further on the problems. ??
