When I read this I went searching and haven't found anything yet. If you are able, could you point me towards some literature about this? Thanks.

Disconnected & Insecure: The intersection between experiences of long COVID and intimate partner violence, Fitz-Gibbon et al, 2024

During the cold war with real fear of nuclear attacks, at round the age of ten and living in a fundamentalist religious environment, I opined that animals were much nicer and more honest than humans and that the world would be better off without them. The result was the usual fly swatter on...

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

I had my 6th vaccination two weeks ago - the new Pfizer monovalent XBB.1.5 - and had no side effects, not even the usual sore arm this time.

I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called "Relapsing Polychondritis"

A really weird thing happened to me a few months ago. The outer cartilage of one of my ears started oozing clear fluid which ran in a stream down the outer fold for about four days. My ear was very red and swollen. My ear lobe was not affected. About two days after it started, the other ear...

Body reprogramming for fibromyalgia and central sensitivity syndrome: A preliminary evaluation, 2023, Lanario et al

I couldn't make sense of the paper so I googled and found this video on a website that seems to come from Plymouth University. It is the second of the two videos about the Hyland body reprogramming method called The Clinician's Perspective. (The first is by Hyland himself.) I found it so...

Crowdfunding: Trial By Error [David Tuller]: Reporting on ME, ME/CFS, long Covid, and "Medically Unexplained Symptoms", Fall 2023

If you prefer to not use your own cards, you can buy a credit card at the supermarket. I use a Vanilla Visa card for these occasions. There's a roughly 5% charge in Australia. Additionally, if you want to be completely anonymous for security purposes, Berkeley doesn't need to know your correct...

Open Australia: AusMe Registry (ME/CFS, Long COVID and healthy volunteers)

I'm surprised (well, no I'm not) that ME/CFS is referred to as 'chronic fatigue' in a medical publication. Thank goodness a doctor wrote an excellent reply putting the writer straight.

Inosine Pranobex: A Key Player in the Game Against a Wide Range of Viral Infections and Non-Infectious Diseases, 2019, Jiri Sliva et al

In the late 1990s my integrative medicine GP took part in an Irish study looking at the effects of Immunovir on ME. I can't remember any details now but it had no effect on me whatsoever.

If you had to guess ME/CFS cause, what'd you say?

Welcome to the forum @Woozy . I've driven myself crazy over many years trying to sort it out. Now I'm just waiting it out and alternately guffawing and fuming at all the money wasting psych stuff that keeps coming like a never-ending sewage overflow.

RNZCGP GoodFellow Unit MedCases CPD Sept 2023: Chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis

@Hutan - I read it again and noticed one more thing - "That is a subject that a much longer letter than this." It's 9 lines up from point 6.

RNZCGP GoodFellow Unit MedCases CPD Sept 2023: Chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis

Wow! I think your letter is terrific. As I was reading through I found a few more typos and a couple of grammar things which you may or may not think are important but I highlighted them in red in anyway. I'm in awe of S4ME and the people who put in so much effort and I am sincerely grateful.

    News from Australia

I wish I had her version of ME so I could be the federal minister for aged care and sport, have three children under two from the looks of them in a TV show (Kitchen Cabinet) I happened to see tonight where she cooked a meal and talked to the show host in the evening and said she had to get up...

Opinion Chronic fatigue syndromes: real illnesses that people can recover from, 2023, The Oslo Chronic Fatigue Consortium

After spluttering in impotent fury for years over the religious tenacity of these people who seem to have no insight into their own stuck beliefs, I happened to find this article which explains it, to me at least. Why these influential psychologists, of all people, do not question their own...

Suppressed immune and metabolic responses to intestinal damage-associated microbial translocation in [ME/CFS], 2023, Uhde, Vernon et al.

Pardon my ignorance but isn't leaky gut a myth perpetuated bu naturopaths and the like, and not a real condition. I'm excluding actual diseases that make cause it - in rats - so I've read.
