Interesting. Thanks for that. I use slow release 2mg tablets on prescription. I've tried over the counter brands before and they made no difference at all.
I find that with the slow release version I will sleep but then wake after about 5 maybe 5.5 hours. That's not quite enough.
It will...
Ok. It's stupid o'clock in the morning and I am wide awake. I was told not to take melatonin continuously or it stops working. To be honest, even when it is working it just helps, not a magic cure. Right now I'm on a melatonin break.
I just ordered some of this Jarrow sustained release NAC...
I think their logic is that if it were serious the patient would be dead already.
Of course we could hop back on the roundabout and raise patient suffering and quality of life, but suffering is subjective etc.etc..
A silver filling? Never heard of one if these before? I know the mercury amalgams look silver in colour when they are new.
My dentist uses some sort of composite and we completely avoid mercury. All my fillings are the same colour as my teeth. It is slightly more expensive than the mercury...
I'm in the UK and with my dentist we discussed using a local anaesthetic without adrenaline.
Epinephrin is based on the adrenalin molecule and both will constrict blood vessels around the site ofnthe injection.
Depending on where you live you might need slightly different terminology.
When I...
@Pechius that is a good point and many people are unaware that this is part of a much bigger picture.
If you have a search within the forum there are a few threads that discuss or refer to:MUS=Medically Unexplained Symptoms, FSS=Functional Somatic Syndromes, PPS=Persistent Physical Symptoms...
Thank you for your work on the FOIs @AR68.
I understand where you're coming from in terms of the size of contribution.
However, from the perspective of claimants the size of benefits awarded in terms of PIP and ESA are huge, though they barely constitute a drop in the ocean of overall DWP...
But when you consider the amount paid to those in ESA & PIP and what claimants have to go through when being assessed it's a huge sum.
I'm sure the ME biobank could make good use of it.
It's a bit unfortunate that there have been a few fundraising campaigns so close together.
If they were spread out a bit more then I could manage to give a bit more. All such important causes!
I have to admit I'm worried.
Have AfME raised or publicised any of this on their forums or social media? It seems they're very quick to get any media attention going, so why be so quiet about this?
This has the potential to cause as much, if not more, harms than the PACE trial. Even if I...
This is what makes me wonder: there is a huge demand for more services and better treatments and care for people with serious mental health issues. There is a huge amount of good that could be done instead of poaching illnesses from other disciplines, purely (or so it often seems) to inflict the...
Angela Kennedy is a sociologist. I believe her daughter has ME. Here's a review of her book "Authors of Our Own Misfortune" :

Stress means very different things to different people in my view.
Some get stressed when they have too much to do and that's when I used to thrive. Too little stress & I get bored. I find boredom incredibly stressful.
I was on a retreat a few years ago. One afternoon there was a art session...
That is exactly why I thought it in such poor taste. How can anybody, let alone people who are supposed to have an understanding of and treat mental health conditions, think that is in any way clever or amusing?
Those poor souls suffered dreadfully. Then they were tortured and abused by way of...
