    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

i meant waiting up the whole day - meaning i spend most of it in bed. If well rested i can schedule to be downstairs on the settee between say 2&5pm, but being down there all day is impossible. Its disgraceful that they think it's ok to not even give you a date. Turning up announced & unplanned...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

Both the above issues imo, is due to the fact that humans always go into 'pattern matching' mode when they hear information. They try to find an experience that they are familiar with, that they've experienced or that they know about already, a box they can put what's being desrcibed, into. So...

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

Yes same for me but i am in the position of havng a carer to take me the 3 mins in the car to centre of town & with green special acces badge can park right outside boots. I go in with my N95 mask AND face shield & strip down in the hallway (Edit:hallway of my home! lol) afterwards, putting all...

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

@Dom In my small town in the midlands uk, Boots pharmacy are doing walk in covid boosters for anyone who is eligible, have been doing for wks (so they told me when i went for my flu jab) but it's never been advertised so hardly anyone knew about it. All my carers have been to get theirs there &...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

Thats really interesting Kitty, because i also get overstimulated after something exciting or stimulating company. I also get shaky, although it's my teeth that chatter rather than my hands shaking. But that feels different than the 'nice' bodily effect of being angry/afraid - which lessens pain...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

yes. I mean i've done things when adrenalined up through anger & fear & i mean terror, that i would never be able to do normally. But man the abrupt & severe crash afterwards. Its like there is a moment, a space of a few minutes when it either wears off, or just stops working, and there is...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

What's interesting though is that i'm not sure how the adrenaline effect works in people who are very severe? I know for them just the increased heart rate caused by being angry can trigger PEM on its own, so perhaps the adrenaline thing doesnt have the same effect.

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

Im confused, does laughing activate your fight/flight response then? It makes me calm down. I was under the impression laughter reduced adrenaline not raised it? How to laugh away stress | Nature perhaps im wrong/confused? Just to be clear that was Murphy saying that, not me.... i thought it...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

Sure, yes. What i was meaning was the kind of 'chronic activation' that she's talking about - ie activation of the sympathetic nervous system without the prerequisite distressing situation. Very upsetting situations are hugely demanding -which is extra activity. But Murphy as i understand...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

Sure, but I meant that specifically in regards to the major uplift caused by anxiety/anger>adrenaline surge though, not the general better days in terms of pacing. I was meaning specifically to dispute the notion that sympathetic nervous system activation leads to symptoms. It doesnt - not for...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

But the mechanism she is describing though, is that chronic sympathetic nervous system activation provokes cytokine release = symptoms... but what I am saying, YELLING, is that when the sympathetic system is activated, i feel BETTER not worse. And if i ignore the feeling better, and maintain the...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

Your points 1-4 are an exact description of my experience @Keela Too :) So the adrenaline perhaps turns off/nullifies the down-forcing signal? But then why the PEM afterwards - which incidentally is so much like the flu/an infection that i cant tell the difference when i do get an actual...

[Blog] BACME, NHS ME/CFS clinics shift from deconditioning to dysregulation model of ME/CFS in anticipation of updated NICE Guideline

Copying this from the pacing research thread where Mithriel was discussing a relaxation tape her Doctr gave her because i think its very relevant (maybe) to the Dysreg model. I wish i could get scientists interested in the role of adrenaline. I've been banging on about it for 20yrs. The...

yes. I have read several articles/presentations of the dysregulation model over the last few yrs. I'm not up to rereading to find the bits i'm going to refer to sorry. @Jonathan Edwards and think the points/suggestions you're making sound very sensible & promising, But i am concerned that in...
