Evaluating case diagnostic criteria for ME/CFS: toward an empirical case definition, 2022, Conroy, Jason et al

Thats an absolutely spot on description of my experience but i couldnt have described it so succinctly. thanks you :) Exactly. Its being ill, and the sensation is unmistakable, it's not interchangeable with fatigue/lack of sleep, its specific and it worries me greatly when i read Jason's...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

Just to clarify in case it got missed - i can only get about an inch underneath without lifting the mattress - so fine for a fitted sheet, but not for a flat one. In terms of my divan, it was bought a lot of yrs ago. Divans are usually the cheapest option when buying new, but you do have to...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

good point. @Leila this may be the difference - i have never had a bed that wasnt a divan - so the mattress sits on top of it, so the corners of with the mattress & about an inch underneath are completely accessible.

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

When should I stop searching for an objective alternative diagnosis to ME/CFS?

Its such a hard question @strategist for us all. I totally empathise with the dilemma. I gave up a long time ago but it was more because the NHS has me so utterly entrenched in a somatisation/functional pigeonhole that its pointless trying to pursue it. But i still quite often fantasise that...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

Do you have to lift your mattress to get them on? I just slide it over & shove it under with my hands from either side - so standing with the corner facing me i just hold it by the bottom elasticated corner & pull it under then shove in under at the sides slightly. Just sort of help it where it...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

Sheets are difficult to fit back into the packet though so i have been known to take mental note (or a photo) of how its folded & packed as i'm undoing it. However i have also just rolled up a sheet & stuffed it unceremoniously back into its bag & returned to M&S, with no issue at all!

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

yes, because you bought them in store. you cant return things bought in store for any other reason than faulty. online/distance purchasing rules are completely different, because you can fully examine/inspect items and try on clothes in store, but when you buy online you only have a picture to...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

yes. The law states anything bought at distance can be properly inspected & then returned if not suitable, but it has to be in re-saleable condition. Its just if you dont like it/doesnt fit then return cost is yours, (whereas if it faulty seller pays return costs) so i mostly buy from places...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

LOL @Arnie Pye poor things :bear: Not having been able to go shopping without it making me really ill for about 20yrs i tried to get everything online (or before the rise of online shopping i used to use catalogues like Freemans, Empire Stores & Littlewoods. Although it's a bit of a faff...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

Fitted sheets IME are vastly easier energywise. No lifting of the mattress at all. the issue you described is with the fit, the wrinkles come when the fit isnt tight enough - too tight though and it will 'ping' off the corners. so the key is to get a good fit. - measure the depth of your...

Should PwME be medically treated as 'high-risk' Covid patients?

I feel completely confindent in stating that we will not be on any list making us vulnerable/needing antivirals on the merits of having ME alone, until such time as a biomedical test is found which shows irrefutable proof of an aetiology which would mkae us more likely to develop severe/life...

Dialogues for a neglected illness - videos on experiences of people with ME (funded by Wellcome Foundation)

@Natalie you have done the 'fair share' of several thousand people with this project. I am profoundly grateful to you, particularly because of all you and your family have sacrificed to produce all the vids. They are an outstanding resource and it is wonderful to be able to direct people to the...

'My Doctor Gaslighted Me Into Believing I Was Fine. In Reality, I Had A Rare Autoimmune Disorder'

yes 5-10 mins in uk too @Mij Well they used to be booked in 10 minute sessions, but by the time you get in there & get sat down... they want it to take 5 mins because they have too many patients for the working day. Of course since the pandemic you can only get a face to face if the doctor...

'My Doctor Gaslighted Me Into Believing I Was Fine. In Reality, I Had A Rare Autoimmune Disorder'

from the article... That just made me laugh! I dont know which planet she lives on, but suggesting to a UK GP that you brainstorm, and turning up with copious notes, will only provoke the dismissal you are trying to avoid. And its all very well saying you dont need to be a 'good patient' but...
