Vagus nerve-mediated neuroimmune modulation for rheumatoid arthritis: a pivotal randomized controlled trial 2025 Tesser et al

Abstract The inflammatory reflex, in which vagus nerve signaling modulates cytokine production, is dysregulated in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RESET-RA, a pivotal, double-blind, randomized, sham-controlled trial, evaluated a vagus nerve-targeted neuromodulation system for RA in 242 patients with...

Bringing natural killer cells to the clinic: Opportunities beyond cancer 2025 Cayotte et al.

Natural killer (NK) cells are cytotoxic and cytokine-producing innate lymphocytes with established roles in antiviral and antitumor immunity. In recent years, the biology of NK cells has been exploited in innovative cancer immunotherapies, leading to clinical advances including allogeneic NK...

Trial Report Plasma cell targeting with the anti-CD38 antibody daratumumab in ME/CFS -a clinical pilot study, 2025, Fluge et al

Can’t antibodies persist in the blood for a while even if the cells that produced them are no longer there?

Opinion: Why I support the use of ME/CFS as opposed to any other name

Also another practical issue is that if you call the disease ME it makes it really difficult to do google/database searches because “me” is a top 10 word in the English language. MZ—“minimally zippy” or “missing zest”, however, would be fine.

Teclistamab plus Daratumumab in Relapsed or Refractory Multiple Myeloma 2025 Costa et al.

Abstract BACKGROUND In a phase 1–2 trial, teclistamab, a bispecific antibody targeting CD3 on T-cell surfaces and B-cell maturation antigen on myeloma cells, showed durable responses in heavily pretreated patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Daratumumab, a monoclonal antibody...

I guess we don’t know how much of “stuff” that comprises the IgG is bad stuff?

Trial Report Plasma cell targeting with the anti-CD38 antibody daratumumab in ME/CFS -a clinical pilot study, 2025, Fluge et al

@Jonathan Edwards Do you have any idea why IGG levels didn’t decrease after the three additional Daratumumab shots (please see post 406 above). I think this paper is saying that IGG doesn’t decrease after a certain point. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7271608/ If that is the case...

Trial Report Plasma cell targeting with the anti-CD38 antibody daratumumab in ME/CFS -a clinical pilot study, 2025, Fluge et al

For the seven shot cohort, IGG didn’t decrease with the 3 additional shots (the yellow arrows). Any ideas about this? Maybe Daratumumab can’t deplete any more cells without NK cells?

Oliver Sacks Put Himself Into His Case Studies. What Was the Cost?

I think the article could have been shortened by half or two thirds. Wish there had been more discussion about Encephalitis lethargica, which may be a disease closely related to ME/CFS. Also does anyone really need 50 years of psychoanalysis? Maybe the psychiatrist could have pulled the plug...
